Marine Vet at #OccupyWallStreet Tells Sean Hannity to... (Real Marines?)

The folks at Occupy Wall Street are creating and publishing videos of themselves onto YouTube. This one from today caught my attention. It's an interview with two men who claim to be Marine Veterans.

- They are anti-war

- Anti Bail-out

- One claims he is burdened with student loans despite the GI Bill

- Asked about Sean Hannity's opinion of protesters, they respond with expletives and claim that everyone in that park near Wall Street are patriotic Americans.

Jeez, I’d hope so. I’ve never served to my great regret but members of my family have(Army, Marines and Navy) and I pride myself in being able to identify certain citations, medals and ribbons and I know FOR A FACT that no other branch of the service except the Army awards a CIB.

This wreck has been thoroughly dissected. The photo was taken in the PM's office when he showed up in this costume for a recruit graduation.

Thisainthell.us has all of these imposters in it’s links. In fact, they specialize in outing them.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they are fake. A lot of people are claiming to be someone they aren’t.

They may have been in the service as they claim but they don’t have the look of warriors.

a lot of them appear to be of the anarchistic Paultard variety.

I didn’t serve, so I don’t know the medals.

All I knew was the kid looked like he had never left home but he had more salad than an Olive Garden.

A little bird tells me you’re in NYC Allegra! Welcome! And if you need a place to freshen up while in mid-town, let me know.

I was at Clark Air Base in the Philippines about a half century ago. One of the APs at the main gate (we called it “Checkpoint Charlie” after the one in Berlin) was wearing his regular 505 (khaki) uniform, with all the Air Police stuff: pistol, whistle, cuffs, etc. He also had a CIB over his left breast pocket. It turns out that he had been in the Army, in Korea, ten years earlier where he was awarded it. Got out of the Army, then enlisted in the Air Force. So it’s possible. But not like the Senior Master Sergeant pictured here.

That boy is too young and too pasty naive boy looking to have all those honors. He should have tried just a few if he wanted to pull it off.

I like them. And I love what they said about Hannity. If I thought the others were like them, I'd be out there too. Well, in spirit (I'm a lazy, old man).

The rectangular-shaped medal with the sky-blue background with the silver musket super-imposed on it about a third of the way down his chest is called a Combat Infantry Badge(a ‘’CIB). This is given to those soldiers in the US Army who have served(or survived more like it) thirty days or more in combat. Not in a ‘’combat area’’, ie. as a supply sargent or a truck driver or some other support service but an actual combat infantryman, a ‘’grunt’’ up front, in a hole getting shot at and shooting back. It has been my great honor and privilege to have known some WW2 vets, men who survived D-Day, the Normandy Campaign , The Battle of the Bulge and other major campaigns who’ve been awarded this citation and when you realize what it means to have lived through that kind of combat, brother you’re meeting a real soldier. This punk ought to have been horse-whipped for this offense alone. Oh and btw, the CIB doesn’t have what ever the hell that silver crap hanging on it that this moron has tacked to it.

Aren’t there regulations stipulating from branch to branch of service what citations and ribbons can be worn and when? And wouldn’t something like a CIB be reserved for a Class A Dress Uniform?

The third award for the CIB which is an Army Infantry only award at that.

Some of his other “bling” is a bullwinkle badge (air assault)
Senior parachutist badge, master HALO badge, Combat medical badge 2nd award, Master aircrew wings.

He’s got a bunch of Army only awards too to include the Army service ribbon.

Even IF this guy is prior service, the Chair Farce do not take prior service from any other branch so as not to make them (the chair farce) look bad when doing *snicker* PT.

Sorry, that will probably tick off lots of Freepers. But Jeez, all day long I've been hearing the same damn GOP talking points on talk radio. Straight out of 1971: "Dirty, smelly, hippies! Get a job and a haircut!" Must admit, I like the nostalgia.

This whole thing is just posturing. Phony (Astroturf)protests. Phony reaction. These two vets seem real. Alas, they're just being used.

Anything is possible these days. I have a friend in Army Intelligence who is liberal, it makes zero sense to me but he will argue liberal talking points with me till the cows come home.
