Romney could pick Rush Limbaugh as his running mate and I wouldn't vote for that mormon nut. I'd just as soon vote for a hare krishna, as a “God of their own planet” Mormon.

Understood.

I’m just asking why Romney choosing Cain as a running mate would be any different than McCain choosing Palin in ‘08.

The vast majority of us were quite cool with that.

I would also like to point out that many FReepers thought that Romney was the lesser of two evils compared to McCain.

Oh my goodness. You just basically said you want Romney to be the nominee and Cain to be his V.P., in as many words.

That's where I differ big time from you and these Cain fans.

I want a proven CONSERVATIVE for president RIGHT NOW. Not 4 years from now.

Just because of a tuition policy with a veto-proof provision, we're gonna use that and elevate Romney as our choice?

Not me. Not in a thousand years.

And that’s just what he was - the lesser of those two evils. At this point in our current race, we still have some non-evils from which to choose.

Months ago I wrote that my dream ticket is: Cain/West! Two solid conservatives in the Republican field. I gave up on Palin some time ago. I knew she wouldn't run and good for her. She knows she is damage goods via MSM and is better suited as a political pundit, or maybe a position in the new Republican administration.

CAIN FOR GAIN!
CAIN FOR LESS PAIN!
STOP THE PAIN - VOTE CAIN!
Hope and Change Caused Your Pain - NOW VOTE CAIN!
Hope and Change Turned Into Pain - VOTE CAIN!
CAIN/WEST - Back To The Best!
CAIN/WEST - Time To Regain and Be Our Best!

Guess I'm a racist for wanting 2 black men to occupy the Oval Office. Sure Cornell West, Sharpton, Jackson and the rest of the black racist liberal/socialist plantation perpetrators would say so. Frig them and their racist communist buddies, including obambi.

BTW, Romney, go the f**k away, you socialist pig. Even if Cain can't beat obambi, I sure as hell hope he beats you, you pubbie poseur.

Oh my goodness. You just basically said you want Romney to be the nominee and Cain to be his V.P., in as many words.

Stop putting words into my mouth.

I DID NOT SAY THAT I WANTED THIS.

I quite clearly said that I DIDN'T THINK IT WOULD HAPPEN.

I am putting this in caps, not because I am shouting, but because I want it to be very clear that I NEVER SAID THAT.

I am asking how, IF this happened, it would be different from McCain/Palin '08.

DO *NOT* TWIST MY WORDS OR MY MEANING. Don't say 'in so many words'. How 'bout you look at the ACTUAL words that I used?

How do we know Perry really believes conservative principles? The RINO question has not gone away.

One very important test of true conservativism is the ability to express them in debates. If you can do this well, you’re either a true conservative or a good faker.

But if you can’t hold your own in multiple debates, questions only grow deeper.

Where are all of the Perry-bots this morning? You know, the “womens” who are obsessed with the long tall texan with Ken-doll hair?

Sorry, we’re not falling for the rino’s (perry and romney). Cain will win. Then he’ll pick Newt and this thing is over.

Romney wont pick Cain..

He may want to or be urged to but his mormon prophet wont let him..

Romney is answerable to his mormon religion not the American voters..

Thank you Grunthor.

IMHO, Perry supporters are becoming his greatest liability.

I have never seen a group lock together so angrily and nastily. Early on, I was actually listening and debating. In my mind, a well cited argument was gaining points for Perry and some of my initial reservations were losing steam.

But then, after Cian started gaining traction, things were just reduced to crap. Their arguments against Cain aren’t against his conservative ideals (although I have seen some well-thought-out arguments against the 9-9-9 plan). For the most part they’re about Machiavellian conspiracy theories that Cain is trying to get with Romney.

I’ve seen FReepers cite examples where Cain has gone after Romney and Perry supporters just ignore them and keep beating the drum.

It’s obvious now. They aren’t just against Romney. The aren’t for the most conservative candidate. They are part of a Perry cult and reason holds no sway. They will lie and twist anything to cut down a true conservative (that can actually beat Romney) just to promote their RINO of choice.

Fair enough then. Still, your question to me has the implied message that even if Romney wins, "isn't that gonna be ok with you??....because we'd V.P. Herman Cain to run in 4 more years." (paraphrasing)

That's essentially what you said.

Now to your Palin question, as she ran with McCain in '08..

Had we CHOSE a conservative as the republican nominee, Palin would be the lesser consideration - not the GREATER.

Are you following the logic here? At this timeline in the primary season, when compared with the timeline of the '08 season, we could have been SMARTER and chose a conservative in the first place. (If we had one) This year we DO.

Stay with me....

Herman Cain cannot sustain himself over the long haul. That may hurt your feelings and be disappointing, but every candidate has to KNOW they need huge amounts of campaign cash to make the long run. He simply doesn't.

My entire point is vote for PERRY because he can win and because he's a fine candidate and a true conservative. Romney is NOT.

We push Romney back, elevate Perry, and Cain is still there if he wanted to run for VP. Which, he apparently doesn't with Perry. Why he said that is beyond me. And also very telling - that he and Romney are in collusion to win as a team.
