He was a genius in foreign policy and a disaster domestically. I remember at the time a physics professor (who spend a large fraction of lecture time rambling on about everything but physics) saying he wished we could have two presidents. One in charge of domestic affairs, one in charge of foreign policy.

They will break the budgets of police departments in overtime, as they have already done in NYC.

It’s a public building, but you can’t do anything you want in it. Demonstrating is forbidden. So is disorderly conduct.

Well, it’s going to end up tears, I’m sure of that. More than anything else it’s going to end in tears and a badly scorched America. I don’t know who will be elected, but it won’t be Obama and it will at this point in time be anyone who isn’t Obama or even a Democrat. Things are going to get real tense and then with Obama safely out, there will be a huge release of tension and then an economic boom. I’m sure of it and I am sure that people will be alert during the election and after, so when you think of it, the chances of massive rioting spilling into the suburbs is actually quite minimal as well. Then there’s the police who will be alert and patrolling and some were worried about riots last year and nothing happened. From what I can tell, a lot of people are retrenching and eager to stop this idiotic chaos and instability and just want to get back on track.

The original comment was that these groups were ‘invited in.’ My point is that the Senate Office Buildings are federal/public property. No invitation is necessary.

If these cretins pass thru the security checkpoints, then pull their nonsense disrespecting the property, they are escorted out. It happens all the time with Code Pink and others. Distasteful, yes. But still the way we want it in the USA.

The alternative is that these federal buildings be closed to the public. Or that some bureaucrat decides who can and can’t enter public buildings? Under that scenario, Nancy and Harry could have shut down those buildings on Capitol Hill in March 2010 when the “Kill the Bill” groups converged to petition their Congressmen and Senators.

There are safeguards built in, especially since the murder of the Capitol Hill policemen years ago. These cretins are disruptors, but until they do their disrupting, they should be admitted to public buildings. Then escort them out and to the nearest jail. Don’t think that was a problem when the “Tea Party” crowd hit Capitol Hill.

Dude, some decorum please.

Don’t say ‘shag’ on FR unless you’re talking about cormorants.

Honestly? There aren’t ANY Senators in that building that I fear for in any capacity. Schadenfreude for the Democrats, and certainly “Lessons-You-Damned-Well-Better-Learn, Dummy” for my two RINO Sentators from Georgia.

The real conservatives are in the US House of Representatives, and there are too few of them if you ask me.

The Constitution mentions “the right of the people peaceably to assemble...,” which is slightly different from what they were doing.
