Why won't Cain attack Romney? (vanity)

Posted on 10/11/2011 10:49:05 AM PDT by teg_76

After Palin, I've been leaning towards Cain. My only problem with him is that he's much more comfortable attacking Perry than Romney.

I'm no fan of the bumbling debator from Texas who says his base has no heart, but this cozying up to Romney by Cain is concerning.

Herman Cain remains my favorite, but he needs to show he's not running for VP. He needs to go after Romney on Romneycare tonight. If he doesn't, it may be time to look elsewhere.

The one thing Rick Perry has going for him is that he's shown he's not afraid to take it to Romney, something all of the other candidates have been hesitant to do.

Yes. But I’m not saying it. Romney is! He said it yesterday in NH. “Vote for me or Cain and you’ll be happy.”

Because Cain and Perry are vying for the same vote - the anti-Romney vote.

Once Cain solidifies that position, he will go after Romney.

Maybe there is no conspiracy. Maybe as a fellow business man Cain can relate to Romney. Romney and Cain have the most in common out of all the candidates. I think they compliment each other nicely.

Amen. Attack Obama. Not Romney, Cain or Perry.

Cain is a businessman. It’s one of the reasons I like him. Romney is also a businessman. I would vote for Cain over Romney, but if Romney is the nominee, I will easily vote for him over Obama.

“So in essence (and this really pisses off the Cain supporters), a vote for Cain is a vote for Romney.”

ROFLOL!

Funniest joke of the day thus far.

Yeah, believe that line, DRey. /s

So over taking him in the polls and soon passing him is not attacking him. Well why not, Cain is the only one in range of kicking Willard's as*. And is the only person that can take him out. Cain, can take Bachmann, Newt, santorium, as. A VP and kick obummer rear. Hell, he can even have Willard as his VP.

1) Cain as a conservative stands to gain the most per minute attacking Perry, since Perry has the most money and support.
2) Romney will never go above 25% anywhere but New England. He’s toast once more conservatives drop out.

Only problem is that is a myth. He has never attacked Perry.

What HAS happened is he has been asked some questions and answered them HONESTLY

Love the way Conservative whine about how politicians never tell the truth then get pissed off when Cain answers a question with a real answer, not a focus group tested spin answer.

Cain won’t attack Romney because Romney is his Plan B.

At lest Romney was his Plan B, but if he actually gets real traction, he may try to fly on his own.

Another thing you might wonder about is his inexplicable vitriol against Perry, who — at least on the surface of what Cain says — is far more in line with Cain’s values than Romney.

It’s definitely something to wonder about ....

The only reason Perry is in the race is the GOP Establishment needs someone to split the Tea Party vote and hand the nod to Romney

Perry is Romney’s VP.

Sure, what Cain needs to do is take the little time he has in the debates and attack Romney. He needs to forget about telling people about himself and his plans, just attack Romney. Attack, attack, attack. /sarcasm

That’s worked great for Bachmann, didn’t it. She went after Perry, failed to make a case for herself, and sunk in the polls.

Herman Cain needs to tell people about Herman Cain—who he is, what he stands for, and what his plans are. At this point in time that should be job 1, 2, 3, & 4 for Cain.

Can has gained attention by doing his job of going after the democrats, not wasting his time going after his GOP
competitors. In the end this is what will win the election,
rather than just the nomination.

Romney said yesterday that people should vote for him or Cain. Why would he do this? Because Cain is he most powerful weapon against Perry. Romney can’t beat Perry without Cain, but Romney CAN beat Cain. Cain has no infrastructure and no money. He’s on a book tour and VP bid. So in essence (and this really pisses off the Cain supporters), a vote for Cain is a vote for Romney.

Pretty much exactly how I see it as well. Hot Air had a good article about it yesterday as well. Romney is just hoping (and helping) Cain to knock Perry out, because Romney knows he can knock Herman out easily later on. Such a transparent strategy, but it is working well for Mitt.

I think Perry’s become the enemy to a lot of people around here.

Can’t figure out why.

The reasons they attach so much importance to are either mistaken or petty.

The way I see it... Perry is the only conservative trying to out Romney and his liberalism... In fact, he’s the only one, period...

And yet, so many of our fellow FReepers are trying to destroy Perry... Disgusting, IMHO.

Over one policy. Illegal immigration... When Romney is worse across the board.

Just WOW.
