Sarah Palin visits South Korea, takes aim at elites

SEOUL — Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin took aim Tuesday at the political elite in the United States, Europe and China, as she brought her criticisms of big government and "crony capitalism" to South Korea.

Days after announcing she would not run for president in 2012, Palin said there "will be a woman president of the United States of America, and I look forward to that day", but did not elaborate on why she did not enter the race.

The 2008 vice-presidential candidate told supporters last week she could help the Republican cause more by working to elect others.

In a wide-ranging speech to a forum in Seoul, the conservative commentator accused China of seeking to use its military influence in regional disputes and said she looked forward to the ousting of North Korea's regime.

Palin cited the Arab Spring as proof that new information technology was playing an "enormous role" in spreading cries for freedom.

"Technology means individuals have been empowered in ways they have never been empowered before in our entire history," she told the World Knowledge Forum hosted by Maeil Business Newspaper....

She sure sounds "washed up" to me. That's why she's representing us at a high-level international conference and being covered by the international press. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Whether you’re a hippie sleeping on Wall Street, a Tea Partier or Sarah Palin, one thing is clear...

It is now Open Season on “elites”

I pray every single day that God will find a way to bring Sarah back into the race so I'll have somebody I WANT to vote for, instead of the usual "hold your nose and pull the lever".

With Sarah out, I have NO interest in any other candidate.

Has a video of her speech been made available yet? I watched her speech in Missouri and Palin was on fire!

What an attention whore.

Your 15 minutes are up, Sarah. You bailed, remember?

One thing about Palin that always bothered me was her occasional focus on gender in politics. There is nothing inherently superior in any race, gender, etc etc. There is NO reason to favor one over the other for these accidental characteristics.

You cannot be a rock ribbed conservative and focus on anything other than the individual American, to the exclusion of any other defining feature.

What an attention whore.

Not as much as some jerk making a "What an attention whore" statement about her.

Ok, let's be a little bit real here...

First, she is not representing us. She is an individual with absolutely no standing as anything else.

Second, had the organizers known at the time they invited her that she would become little more than a footnote in this election it is very likely that she would never have been invited.

Third, her comments to al-jazeera after her speach regarding "regime change" in NK were ill-informed at best and recklessly irresponsible, even dangerous at worst.

Maybe you should pray instead for serenity and the ability to accept her decision. Sarah’s a believer. She prayed about this decision and God told her no. His will be done ... not ours.

Try not to seem so threatened. If Sarah is inconsequential, what do you have to worry about?

Whoa! I haven't read about that yet. Can you point me to a link or summarize it?

If number one is the case and universally understood, then why does number three matter?

Since Sarah has spoken to very large important groups in both India and South Korea, it seems that world leaders (I didn’t say political leaders) are more interested in Sarah Palin’s views than Obamas.
