Apparently the Olive Garden in Oxford, Alabama, refused the request of the local Kiwanis Club to fly the flag during one of their meetings at Olive Garden. The Orlando-based parent company Darden industries made a statement that included this quote: ""To be fair to everyone and avoid disrupting the dining experience for all other guests, they're unable to accommodate flags or banners of any type in the dining room," according to the statement.

FYI, Oxford is just down the street from Anniston, AL, the former home of Fort McClellan, headquarters of the Military Police and Chemical Corps branches.

As such, I have a feeling that if there is an anti-flag policy, it is not particularly directed towards the United States “stars and stripes” as much as another flag known for its “stars and bars”.

An Olive Garden is being built in my town right now

I’ll check that type of thing out when they open...

One of the nice things that several national chains do for veterans is a free or cheaper meal on Veterans Day

Golden Corrall, O’Charlies, Applebys etc

Lets see what Olive Garden do for the veterans...

If they diss the veterans in this town they will be toast...

Haven’t stepped in the door since I found out they were working with the Obama’s Socialist diet programs. Don’t preach to me when I’m spending $80.00 on a two person lunch every week & sometimes two per week.
I’ve found a local place and they make great food as well.
G’bye Olive Garden we once loved ye.

I hate to hear that! I’ve always really liked Olive Garden’s food!

Is this just a local issue or company-wide? Very unfortunate.
