He’ll be coddled now by a criminal ‘justice’ system that will supply him with a team of psychiatrists and attorneys, free medical and dental care, and a nice little private cell. If he’s sentenced to death, it will be at least 30 years before he’s executed.
This is California, after all.

This salon is on the west side of the road in the first block of PCH coming north over the bridge into Seal Beach from Huntington Beach. Right next to a Bait shop & carry-out.
My long-time watering hole is about 100 yards up the road, Dave's Other Place. About as good a 'neighborhood' bar as you're ever going to find.

I can load my unloaded firearm in [precious] seconds (I'd prefer legally carrying a loaded firearm in CA, but the law doesn't permit me). Or I can run and die tired.
When I get my hair cut here in AZ, I have my weapon good to go. Miscreants have to think twice about shooting someone in state where intended victims can shoot back.
