Only 60 people showed up? My kid’s lemonade stand draws a bigger crowd.

I am not surprised by the speed with which progressives can take a perfectly good platform and destroy it with the wrath in which Sodom and Gomorrah were leveled.

I am strongly in favor of eliminating bailouts and policy perks for irresponsible banks and investors. Investing is the taking of risk, when the downside is removed it only leads to further negligent actions. I am also strongly in favor of returning our monetary system to a gold backed currency in the abscence of a central bank. The Fed will never undertake measures with the interests of the taxpayers in mind - by nature and structure, it cannot.

With this being the case, I could have seen myself being, at least, empathetic to the protests. And I think if the two items I mentioned were the sole unifying purpose, quite a few Conservatives would have joined me in that mindset. However, the ‘party’ was begun by progressives, and every liberal cause shows up to tack their agenda on to the cause: unions, social-engineers, race-baiters, LGBT, big-government free-lunchers, enviro-kooks, etc. In the absence of a solid purpose and objective, the liberals come out of the woodwork to lay claim to the movement.

So, we end up with what we have now. A bunch of stinkin’ liberal hippy wanna-be’s mixed with red diaper doper baby left-overs congregating to demand something - most of them haven’t a clue of why they are there. What a lost cause and a worthless pursuit. Let them wander in the wilderness for all I care - ignorance is bliss and there are some happy folks turning out.

My kid’s lemonade stand draws a bigger crowd.

I am sure, being the great American, upstanding, and dignified individual that you are, your lemonade stand has obtained a certificate from the health department and is only using free-trade lemons from organic farms. I am sure you are increasing your homeowners insurance to include a large umbrella policy - just in case that crack in your sidewalk leads to a broken hip. I know you are conducting business in comliance with the ADA, adding ramps and sign language, if needed. The customers are rapidly served regardless of their religion, sexuality, or other possible historically disenfrancised status. I am also sure you are adequately paying the business tax to your municipality and claiming the derived income on your 1040. If not, by golly expect a visit from someone in a purple shirt.

These "protests" will last only until it starts to rain. That will be the end.

For this group, I would be in favor of assisted suicide as long as I could choose my method of assisting.
