How can the city legally allow “assembly” on private property unless the lanlord allows it?

It's my understanding that the owner of the property is allowing them to "occupy" the park. I read somewhere that the company that owns the park has received some kind of money or loan from the Obama administration - they are all tied together.

In my area, the local "Occupy" group is receiving stacks of pizza and bottled beverages - if you walk past them downtown - they offer you a slice of pizza. Who is paying for this stuff?

Why are they allowed to trespass?

"Protesters will be allowed to return to their designated areas after cleaning is complete,"

I hope the cleaning crew will be wearing Hazmat suits. This is one instance I'd like them to take their sweet time cleaning the park. Three months should be just about enough time.

The landlord allows it and should be billed for making the city clean up after Brookfield's guests.

“The protesters, who have camped out in a city park for more than three weeks, will be forced out Friday so that city crews can help clean the area.”

The protesters, who have camped out in a city park for more than three weeks, will be forced out Friday so that city crews can help clean the area.

‘CITY CREWS’? Sounds like the taxpayers of New York will be paying for these looters mess. They should make the occupiers help clean the place. Dysentary is a real possibility at this point....not to mention some other awful thing like Hepetitus. YUCK!!

With these low-lifes, I'd be more worried about nastier bugs like hepatitis, dysentery etc.

Just read about Henry V's siege of Harfleur in the 15th century. His army camped out around the city with sanitary conditions similar to those in Zucotti Park. By the time the city surrendered about 6 weeks later, he'd lost roughly 1/3 of his troops to dysentery, etc., and only a relatively small number to enemy action.

In a way it would have been nice to see this encampment continue because, given the sanitary conditions, the same thing would have happened to the subhuman hippie scum there. Imagine the open pools of urine, piles of feces, flies happily breeding there, and promptly flying over to the hippies' open commissary, and crawling on the food, which the "people" would then eat. There would have been a very instructive die off.

Why must the city clean up for a private owner who has been encouraging these vermin to live on the property?

Why is the city cleaning a private park?

The landloard has allowed it.

I read somewhere that the holding company benefited by some stimulus money or some such thing. But even if that had nothing to do with it, they probably don’t want to “make waves”.

Don't you love "public-private partnerships?"

It sounds so much nicer than fascism, or crony socialism.

If this was a Tea Party protest, there would be no cleanup required - we police ourselves. Only socialists, progresasives, and libtards require cleanup.

The company told police that it had received “hundreds of phone calls and emails” from locals complaining about "lewdness, groping, drinking and drug use, the lack of safe access to and usage of the Park, ongoing noise at all hours, unsanitary conditions and offensive odors,” NBC New York reports.

The park will be cleaned in stages, beginning Friday morning. Protesters will be allowed to return to their designated areas after cleaning is complete, NBC New York reports.

Having helped planned for the Tea Party rallies in Rochester, NY for 2009 and 2010, we secured the proper permits and facilities such as port-a-potties and food vendors and we left the parks that we held the rallies at in better shape than they were when we arrived.

How do these "Occupy Wall Street" protestors get away with squatting in Zuccotti Park for three weeks, trashing it in the process??? Why is Mayor Bloomberg putting up with the crap?

That and the obvious bias from the MSM, showing the protesters in the most positive light while they vilified the Tea Party Movement at every turn. Total BS!

There must be a number of protesters who are getting tired of it all. When the park gets closed they’ll wander away to find another place to squat, and the returning group will be much smaller.

A better plan would be to fence them in and let them wallow in their own excrement. That would make them more pitiful, and Zero could directly blame George Bush.
