In the absence of other evidence it might make sense, but the reduced solar activity at the time probably had far more impact.

Laughable, of course. Did Columbus and his crew fart all at the same time to get those ships moving or what? /s

Hmmm...Maybe he should collaborate on paper with that meathead commie in Congress who claimed that slave ships changed the whole ecological environment of the southern Atlantic ocean...

“atmospheric carbon dioxide...a key greenhouse gas”
The core idea of global warming theory is that if 3/10,000 of our atmosphere is CO2, were going to skip happily through sustainable meadows with unicorns, and if its 4/10,000 the world is going to be wrecked. It doesnt matter how many scientists say what, that is never going to make even the tiniest bit of sense. (plagiarized)

Quick!! some body tell this rubberhead with a degree; the little ice age began several hundred years before the American Indians were even met by Columbus. In the Caribbean Islands I might add.

I pinged SunkenCiv first thing, but I guess he didn't notice, or thought it unworthy of a ping. I know; I saw that, and was joking that I got a reply in before he pinged me to an article he was pinged to for once.

The European conquest of the Americas decimated the people living there, leaving large areas of cleared land untended. Except, of course, that the depopulation of America occurred more than 100 years before Columbus landed in America.
To: xkaydet65
Yes, well you see less population means less eating and less eating means less farting and less farting means less methane gas and less methane gas means less global warming.
Ipso facto we will all die if we don’t pass legislation IMMEDIATELY to outlaw farting. We must heavily regulate the eating of any gas producing foods to the extent possible.
BAN THE FART!!!
To: afraidfortherepublic
Rubbish. The little ice age was almost over by 1492. It has been blamed for the hundred years war and the black death.

They’re kidding, right? Every estimate that I’ve seen suggests that pre-Columbian North America was pretty thinly populated. Sure there were some areas in Central & South America that sported urban civilizations, but even there...
