Gore links climate change to Great Lakes problems

DETROIT - Former Vice President Al Gore linked climate change to a rash of environmental catastrophes Thursday, from floods in Pakistan to drought in Texas and rampant algae blooms sucking oxygen from Lake Erie.

The fallout from a warming planet is being felt around the world, Gore said in a speech during the annual meeting of the International Joint Commission, which advises the U.S. and Canadian governments on issues affecting shared waterways. Things will get worse unless people reject a campaign of denial orchestrated by the fossil fuel industry and make significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, he said.

Gore wants to breathe new life into his Carbon Credit Exchange.

He will make uncountable billions of dollars if he can get the Tax and Cap or similar legislation passed.

Then he can increase his fleet of SUVs and private jets and live even larger than he does now, not to mention all the hookers and masseuses he can buy.

Carbon taxes and low carbon footprints are for the hoi poloi. Al Gore and his fellow travelers are above all that.

WJR had a few moments of his talk on tape yesterday. I wonder why news outlets bother to publicize this fakir.

Has anyone suggested that the carbon gods might best be appeased by sacrificing Mr. Gore in the nearest volcano?

Maybe the algae blooms will kill off all of the invasive species currently residing in the Great Lakes. That is unless you know some good recipes for asian carp or various mussels.

*** What is his college degree in? ***

Well, besides Gore Flunking OUT of DIVINITY SCHOOL(1) (LOL), Manbearpig has a BA 'cum laude' in Government from Haaaaavard(2) (class of '69)

(1) Vanderbilt University Divinity School from 1971 to 1972
(2) 'he did not do well in science classes in college, and avoided taking math. His grades during his first two years put him in the lower one-fifth of the class. During his sophomore year, he reportedly spent much of his time watching television, shooting pool, and occasionally smoking marijuana.' (wiki)

I link mental retardation to fat Albert Goreon.
He and his family are such an embarrassment to my
great state of Tennessee.
Keep in mind, he lost Tennessee when he ran for POTUS.

Problems with the Great Lakes, especially Erie, have been recognized off and on for many decades - starting well-before all of the ‘let's blame everything on climate change’ hype. Erie was a called a ‘dead’ lake in the 1960s, predominantly because of algae blooms that were thought to be promoted by excessive nutrients from farm runoff etc. Then there were stories about a glorious comeback. Now I guess it's devastation again, but this time it's global warming..

Ocean bearing ships dumping their ballast water filled with invasive critters and plants from the Middle East/Europe into the waterways once they enter Lake Erie instead of at the Mouth of the St. Lawrance Seaway are the cuprits.

That and the fact that cities/towns are allowed to dump their sewage overflow into the Waterway creating plenty of food for the algae.

Fossile fuel exhaust is no where close to these other issues that are stressing the biomass/health of Lake Erie.

But then again the Truth never got in the way of an OwlGore rant.

This is News? The Great Lakes have algae blooms in the summer time? With a phone call to any fishing boat operator the reporter could have found out that this is nothing new. It happens every year.

Maybe the algae blooms will kill off all of the invasive species currently residing in the Great Lakes.

Living algae convert CO2 to oxygen bubbles. The main problem with algae blooms is they don't coincide with fish blooms to eat the algae. Instead bacteria eat the dead algae, ruining the water for fish. It's a bacteria problem, not really an algae problem.
