The most prominent Republican in the Obama administration is accusing GOP House members of blocking efforts to resolve the nation's problems, partly because they don't want the president to be successful.
Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood was asked at a transportation conference Friday why it was so difficult to get big infrastructure projects built right now.
He responded that "some people don't want Obama to be successful."

WE flushed a lot of RMSPs the last couple election cycles but have a lot that are still hanging onn.. the TEA Party and Club for Growth needs to continue to target them aggressively.

Ray LaHood, the guy that tried to ram through trillions of dollars for the “high-speed” train boondoggle versus a “do-nothing” Republican Congress.
I’ll take the do-nothing Congress any day of the week!
(By the way, Republicans only had control of the House since November 2010.)
Doing nothing is far better than doing something, when that something invariably costs us lots of money we don’t have, accomplishes nothing good, and provides yet another swollen trough for the beltway pigs to feast on.
Even better would be doing far less.
Doing nothing is certainly preferable to doing ill - and lahood does ill to America every day he continues to breathe.
I don’t think Obama can be successful with his ideology.
To hope for “Obama success” we have to embrace trillions of dollars of additional debt and massively higher taxes.
Count me as one who hopes he fails, Ray.

DOT seeks comments on environmental justice strategy

The U.S. Department of Transportation is seeking comments and suggestions on its updated environmental justice strategy to reduce the disproportionately high adverse human health and environmental effects of transportation programs, policies and activities on minority and low-income populations.
Under guidance from the Obama administration, DOT signed an interagency memorandum of understanding in August, inviting agencies to adopt or update their environmental justice strategies. Collectively, DOT and its agencies are in the process of updating guidance and strategy documents.
A key component of the strategy is promoting greater community participation in decision-making processes. From now until Dec. 31, DOT is inviting the public to provide insights, experiences and ideas for enhancing environmental justice in transportation-related activities by signing on to www.ej.ideascale.com.
