Wait a second! This happened 2 days ago and as far as I know there was pretty much a media blackout on this story.

Where are all the OccupyAfrica leftists protesting this in front of the White Hut? At least with Bush it was Blood for Oil.....now it's Blood for what???

You are 100% correct, the Republicans this time will say or do nothing about it. They only see that this is a power they too can wield. The vast majority of elected people see only the power within their grasp, and wipe their arse on that silly old piece of parchment we call the Constitution.

The President does NOT have the power under the Constitution, to command the military at his whim. Technically, therefore literally, the Congress must call him to such a command with a vote. The War Powers act itself, should be un-Constitutional, if you want to enforce the letter of the law. Of course, no one wants to do that. Preferring instead to enforce the traditions built up around it.

Oh good, now a war in the Congo. Hopefully, this will only cost tax payers a few hundred billion.

I wonder if this be supported by the cannibal community? Will the Ubangies become our allies in the fight? Have the Zulu’s made a statement?

I think you took my post out of context. The original poster was advocating changing the Constitution to make a Congressional committee to approve military deployments. My response was that there is no need to change the Constitution, Congress has that power, if they don't like what the President is doing with the Military they can close the purse.

My mistake....usually is. I probably just clicked on you, when others start making me see red. It seems that a large number of people....even FReople believe that if those in power can get something done once, it gives the ability to do so continuously. Like start a war, with no reason but “War Powers act”. Or the soon to be oft repeated, “Responsibility to Protect”.

“Uganda, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo”

The hellhole of all hellholes.

Pray for our troops, who are put in harm’s way for no legitimate purpose.

If Obama doesn’t have the WILL to use the military to TAKE the money he needs to pay them FROM Congress, eventually SOMEONE will come along who DOES.

All things proceed by degrees, including loss of freedom. Read about the Roman Republic. The Founders did.

I trust THEIR judgment.

Which is PRECISELY WHY the Tea Party needs to CONTINUE infiltrating them, kicking out the RINOS and taking our nation back.

We already thought of that, that is why General Officers are Recommended by the President through the Sec. Def and are confirmed by the Senate. We have only their oath to trust them by, but really, in the US who are the Generals going to be loyal too, the President who is violating the Constitution, or the Constitution? Sure it's possible, may have almost happened, but the modern Military, never.

I read an article on FR today stating that 0bama was stating that the Copts in Egypt should show restraint after being slaughter last week. I thought it was satire. It wasn't. Now this.

So what?!?

Are we now to be responsible for the eradication of all "bad guys" on the face of the planet? Is the U.S. foreign policy now to bring the annihilation of all evil everywhere? If so, why not start here? Or on our southern border? Why, indeed go farther than Pennsylvania Avenue?

THIS is in America's National Security Interest? How so? Because Obama says so?

This is to further acclimate Congress and the American populace to the unilateral commitment of military personal to perform Ear Leader's personal whim. No more, no less.

[I only know what I just learned from Rush, but the Lord’s Resistance Army is a Christian group fighting against Muslims. And Obama is sending troops to eradicate them.]

Obama the bigot is sending American troops to fight Christians trying to resist the evil dictator of Uganda and some other states. Obama acts like a muslim marxist dictator himself. The man should be impeached as soon as possible.

The LRA are not Christians, but instead have killed many. They are known for hacking off the arms of children.

The LRA is the main nemesis of missionary Sam Childers, the “machine gun preacher”, who went over there to rescue children from being butchered. There is a new movie out about his ministry — see http://machinegunpreacher.com/

Mr. 0 does things on purpose and that will further his goals, whatever they are. What is the point of sending 100 highly trained, top notch, expensive, American Special Forces troops into....Uganda? WTH? Why would he want to do this? What goal does this forward? And why was it released in the late Friday news dump, indicating that he didn’t want the press to cover it much?

Humanitarian, my foot. We could pick hundreds of other places where “humanitarian” efforts could be done. Why this one? Why now?

I just don’t get it.
