The abandonment by his father when he was an infant and by his stepfather at age 10 has left President Obama with a "father hunger" that influences everything from why he distances himself from pushy supporters, to his strong desire to compromise and bring people together, to his aggressive campaign to kill Osama bin Laden, says a psychoanalytic book out next week. In Obama on the Couch, George Washington University professor Justin Frank also reveals that Obama has spent much of his life seeking out father figures, but most, like Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Vice President Biden, have disappointed him. "Obama searched for a father, for someone to relate to who could help hima strong man who knew what to do," Frank writes.
This is Frank's second psychoanalytical book about a president. While a sympathetic look at Obama, it follows Bush on the Couch, a sharply critical analysis that suggested then President George W. Bush was disturbed. In that book, he predicted that someone like Obama"completely different," "someone not ... white"would succeed Bush. What the nation ended up with, however, is "an almost tragic figure," Frank writes.

This diagnosis is wrong. Even I can see that he is suffering from Karl Marx syndrome.
Broken relationship with father. And with step-pfather. Not good. Not good for little Barry at all.
But on the bright side - he did have a fabulous tranny nanny in Indonesia.
Explains a lot, don’t it?
I think Mr. Bedard is a condescending racist.
This is all we need to know about this clown's "objectivity".
I was going to say, is he analyzing the same Barry Obama we watch on TV?
Rev. Jeremiah Wright WAS like a father to Barry. Just like a son he says he never listened to the father Jeremiah.
Reverend Wright filled his days and Larry Sinclair filled his nights.
Sharply critical of Bush and now a feel sorry puff piece about Obama to help him get reelected. Where is his discussion of Obama's malignant narcissistic personality disorder and associated rage? Obama's distortion of reality saying we're a 'colonialist' nation? Ashamed of American exceptionalism? Bowing to our enemies? Wanting to transform our Sacred Republic into a socialist third world hell hole? His systematic destruction of our free-market based capitalist system? His racism and class warfare? His trying to create chaos in our streets so he can declare martial law? Many other concerns, but that's enough for now. .
Obama has some real problems and it's not just missing his daddys. . .
Presidents. Presidents who need fathers...are the luckiest presidents...
>How about we just sum it up Obamas nuts.<
You can add incredibly stupid.
The author is in touch with his inner nut

Barky refuses to buy birthday or Christmas (or Mawlid al-Nabim) gifts for his daughters. He never got a birthday gift from his father. The childhood envy seeing others receive gifts caused him to become the Marxist he is.
Look, Hussein is a person for whom Christ died. I do believe he is a deeply, deeply flawed individual whose mission in life (whether he realizes or admits it or not) is to crush capitalism, and our Constitutional Republic.
Those goals must never be reached. He must be defeated.
He also is a person who needs to know the meaning of real love—imagine how different a person he could be if he did. Herman Cain is no “accident”—neither is Walter E. Williams, Ali Akbar, Star Parker...or for that matter Rush Limbaugh or Bill Buckley or Ronald Reagan.
I believe every person, regardless of race, who embraces the Constitution and freedom is someone who has been changed or molded by the mental and spiritual embrace of knowing the difference between real love and counterfeit. Not that each person gets everything right, but that each person gets it right most of the time.
Imagine how different Hussein would have been if he hadn’t been allowed to hang around the Marxists his family enjoined. What if he had been given responsibilities, taught accurate American history, and learned the truth about economics?
Sadly, he came from a broken home (as did Bill Clinton) and that is NEVER good for a child.
... to his aggressive campaign to kill Osama bin Laden...
Horse crap. He had no aggressive campaign. Bush had it, and our military had it. Hussein was a bystander.
