I did read the transcript before FOX polished it up for him.
Through a series of executive orders, and other executive actions, we will begin the process of creating jobs soon after the inauguration of a new president.
was changed to using EOs to undo Obama’s EOs instead of legislating from the Office of the President.
If you want to judge a man by his words, you need to use the real transcript of Perry’s speech, not the interpreted one posted in this thread.
Where do you apply for the free education funds.
Perry Ping!
Agree, Paulies seem to like the part where he says “drugs should be legalized”.
That’s all I hear from certain people, cough, cough.
They like the free drugs but hate those vaccines.
Thank You! :)
Ouch! Hang in there. Pain is a be**ch. I also know ‘arthur ‘ very well.
My grandson had the rotator cuff thing. Don’t know which pain is worse. I know he really suffered and still does after several years.
I hope that’s not the case (Palin supporters being Perry detractors).
I was all out for Palin, truly thought and hoped she would run. I still find it hard to believe she decided not to.
But, even before that decision, I was glad Perry entered the race because I considered him a good second choice. I’m a lifelong Texan and I know what’s goin’ on round here. He’s been a good governor for us. Those that bring up really stupid stuff like the in-state tuition thing cannot be reasoned with. I’ve wasted a lot of space trying to do it.
They just hate Perry. I don’t know why. I don’t think they know why. They have some stock issues they hang it on, issues that aren’t worth a hill of beans when you think of what we’re up against with Obama.
Perry has created a job friendly climate in Texas and he would do the same for the country. Job friendly, people.
And some of you are hung up on giving in-state tuition rates. It’s scary the lack of perspective.
Make what Americans buy, buy what Americans make, and sell it to the world!
BUMP
DRILL RICK DRILL!
Jennifer Rubin at Wash. Post has a nice article about how much credit to give to Perry for what has happened in TX in the past 4 years. The artilce is a mirror of this idea from Perry, the idea that has been rolling aroudn the internet and the Western Governors for about 6 months. Rick Perry is a politican. This is not a New Idea like 9,9,9 or Reagan’s 3 levels of Tax and a clean up of the code. Nope this is typical Rick Perry...help I’m melting let me give you a new idea. It is what he did with the budget mess.
I did read the actual transcript. Go watch the speech on the link and come back, it’s 24 minutes long, I think you will have a different opinion.

Thanks for your post.
I understand that the Legislature pushed for it...not Perry. And the vote for it (unanimous in one House & only 4 dissenters in the other) was veto-proof.
I agree...it's not the biggest issue.
I'll take Perry any day over RINO Romney.
Based on your comment, I think you’ll be happier on this thread...

Enjoy. :)
I know Texas is not the only state that offers in-state tuition rates to kids of illegals but I don’t know what the other states are.
It’s a bigger thing here in Texas because we have so many illegals. Unfortunately, they like it here and don’t go on up to Georgia or Mass. (ha)
Anyway, the arguments for it 11 years ago when it was passed, as you say almost unanimously, were generally accepted by both parties.
I think hostility toward Mexicans and illegals has grown exponentially in those past ten years. There are people around here whose hate is disturbing.
Also we’re all sick and tired of giving anything to anybody who didn’t earn it.
However, this is not giving anything ... those benefiting from the in-state rate still have to pay tuition and it ain’t cheap ... at the big colleges.
However, there was an article in the Dallas Morning News, a liberal rag that hates Perry, that was fair about this issue, giving actual figures which showed that most of the kids benefiting from this go to community colleges, which are pretty cheap anyway.
There was a lot of screaming about UT at first, but the number going to UT is extremely small.
All in all, the dollar amounts involved are miniscule.
This whole issue is a straw dog made important by people who don’t have a clue about the situation in Texas.
Thanks.
I think you’re wrong. I think people like q&a are at their peak of joy when they are on Perry threads telling how horrible Perry is.
You are being very mean to suggest that she go elsewhere where she or he wouldn’t have nearly so much pleasure.
Either watch the speech or hit the road jack.
