Study finds Rick Perry target for criticism: So much for civility
Politico ^ | oct 14, 2011 | Maggie Haberman

From the study:

Perry has been singled out for criticism 39 times - about twice the combined total of Herman Cain (9), Jon Huntsman (5), Ron Paul (4), Rick Santorum (1), Michele Bachmann (1), and Newt Gingrich (0) and 10 more than Mitt Romney (29).

I think some of it has to do with the Texas accent and people just assume that means he’s ‘dumb’. That’s a type of bigotry in itsef - just because he has the same accent as George Bush doesn’t mean he’s the same person. There are a lot of people in Texas, it’s just a stereotype.

Perry had better man up. This victim card being played by him and his wife is most unattractive.

See post 12 for why Perry is dumb. Trust me, it has nothing to do with his accent or where he’s from, it has everything to do with his inability to form simple sentences.

During Tuesday’s Washington Post-Bloomberg debate, Herman Cain, the former chief executive of Godfather’s Pizza, named Rich Lowrie of Cleveland as “my lead economist” who helped develop Cain’s signature “9-9-9” plan for overhauling the federal tax system. “He is an economist, and he has worked in the business of wealth creation most of his career,” Cain said.

Actually, according to Lowrie’s Linked-In profile, he has a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Case Western Reserve University, not economics. Lowrie, in an e-mail, said he did not consider himself an economist, just “senior economic advisor” to the Cain campaign. Donor information maintained by Opensecrets.org shows he has donated $1,500 to Cain in 2010 and 2011, but also contributed $2,300 to Mitt Romney in his first run for the presidency in 2007.

Okay, so Cain may have exaggerated the qualifications of his economic guru. But he has forcefully defended his ‘9-9-9’ plan, both during Tuesday night’s debate and on MSNBC’s “Daily Rundown” on Wednesday. Many readers have asked us to examine the plan and explain it, so let’s take it for a test drive.

It’s helpful, he’ll have a thicker skin when he takes on Obama in the General Election.

Do you dump your relatives, spouse, friends if they way ONE word to you that you don’t like, such as “heartless” despite of everything they do for you and all their million good qualities?

No forgiveness, that’s it, get out and never speak to me again, “you are dead to me” — is that your attitude?

Then you go and write a will leaving everything to your worst enemy?

This is what you are doing in politics — dismiss Perry, then let Obama be president and destroy the country completely, just because Perry used the word “heartless” for allowing children of illegals to attend college paying in-state tuition. That’s really logicaL. (/SARC)

“I am intrigued and open to the Bush administration’s amnesty proposal. Most Texans would agree that it’s better to have legal, taxpaying immigrants from Mexico working in the United States than illegal immigrants living in fear of the law and afraid to access basic services.”

Do you think Perry has more of an accent than Cain?

Are we to hold it against Cain that he has an accent like Jimmy Carter?

but he backed barry in not allowing citizens to see the pics of bid laden but the elected officials should be allowed. He has no problem interfering w/our rights, like barry. I know - that goes under the ‘no one is perfect’ column - later to be pulled out and into the ‘we knew it back then’ column and others will be ‘I can’t believe’ mode.

He has no accomplishments since he’s never been elected but that’s not because of a lack of trying - he’s been at it since 2000 when he threw his hat in the presidential ring but failed and used radio to create an image he needed for his next run. And now he’s being championed as not a politician! LOL! He was asked to resign by the BOD. All stuff no one has touched him on yet - along with just basically smearing him with innuendo’s. What would be his answer why he thought citizens have no right to see the photos - whether they wanted to or not is not the question. Whether they had a redeeming value or not is not the question. Denying ‘Our rights’ is the question. Here’s where the talk doesn’t equate the walk.

Dismissing Perry does not = letting Obama become president. I think Herman Cain stands a much better shot at beating Obama, the polls say so too. If Perry somehow became the nominee I’d obviously vote for him, but in the primary I will vote for the person who didn’t call me heartless and gives in-state tuition to illegals, and is a solid conservative.

lol! Thanks Casablanca! That's a keeper!

I know La Raza Rick favors amnesty as do many of his supporters. Heck, I think that's why some of them like him. But it's good to have these quotes for those who are in denial.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But just to be clear: if border security is accomplished, you can envision some sort of path to citizenship for people who are here illegally.

La Raza Rick Perry: Sure.

Pery came in as a big frontrunner, so of course everyone went after him. Just the way it is.
