Here’s one of the protesters Reason.tv spoke to at Occupy Wall Street in Los Angeles on October 12, 2011. She identifies herself as Patricia McAllister and as an employee of Los Angeles Unified School District.

“I think that the Zionist Jews, who are running these big banks and our Federal Reserve, which is not run by the federal government… they need to be run out of this country,” she said.

As a 73 yr. old lady, I’ve spent most of my life trying to figure out WHY so many people hate all Jews?? I am a Christian who came from the rural South. As a young woman, I lived and worked as a teacher in a Junior High School in Shaker Hgts.,Ohio—the first year after having Graduated from college. I doubt that I’d ever even met a Jewish person until that time. I can honestly say, I have Never been accepted with such good will nor shown more kindness than I was by the Jewish people of that area. I resigned at the end of my first year for I was expecting our first Child. We moved back to my husband’s home town after the baby came, but to this day, I still remember how wonderful those people were to me. How can anyone just HATE all Jewish People because they happen to be Jewish? It makes No Sense to me. Life is too short to waste it hating others for no reason.

The conversation went around to the presidential campaigns & Trevor was asked who he liked. When he replied, “Herman Cain” a bunch in the group shouted, “Herman Cain, 9-9-9!!” It appears that some of the youth are paying attention & like him.

This is beyond unacceptable.

As a public school employee, Ms. McAllister is held to a higher standard. Her comments show not only political incorrectness but also ethnic and religious insensitivity, and cannot be tolerated in a public school employee.

Furthermore, as one of America's most ethnically and culturally diverse school districts, the Los Angeles schools will demonstrate their commitment to those high standards in practice as well as in principle, and take all appropriate steps to make certain that impressionable youth know that such bigoted and insensitive comments not only do not represent the school district but will not be tolerated when made by school district employees.

I trust that the Los Angeles schools will soon be announcing Ms. McAllister’s suspension, either with or without pay, pending a full investigation of the matter.

Okay, now with the filter off, I'll stop being nice. I'll defend Ms. McAllister’s free speech rights to be an idiot, but what one of us believes for ten seconds that a school district employee in Los Angeles would get away with saying such garbage at a Tea Party or other conservative rally?

The fact that the Los Angeles schools haven't rapidly acted against Ms. McAllister shows there's a double standard.

I actually don't want to see her suspended — I want to see her ridiculed and publicly vilified as a poster girl for asinine and idiotic comments. The best way to respond to garbage is not by shutting down speech, but by pointing out that the speaker is an idiot.

For starters, since when did the federal government have the right to “run out of the country” **ANY** citizen whose only “crimes” are getting wealthy, becoming a banker, or being Jewish?

Ms. McAllister, if you're a citizen, you have every right in the world to spout your garbage. That's what the First Amendment is for. The fact that Israel is an American ally means their government has chosen to put up with the fact that American democracy allows American citizens to say bad things about their allies.

But you'd darn well better be glad you have the First Amendment backing you up, because G-d happens to have a few opinions about Zionism, and they aren't yours.

In America you have a constitutional right to spout crap. G-d will deal with the enemies of His chosen people, and you won't like the way he does so if you don't repent before your death.

Personally, I'd like to spit on you, but considering the company you're hanging out with, you might appreciate that since you're probably in bad need of a bath and some personal hygiene about now.
