Rep. Issa Asked If He Is ‘Showboating’ With Fast And Furious On Face The Nation

On Face the Nation today, Congressman Darrell Issa updated the public on his latest attempts to investigate the Justice Department for its possible involvement in the ATF “Fast & Furious” gun sting, but was careful not to accuse any of the involved parties of criminal conduct.

Bob Schieffer asked Issa to respond to charges that he’s merely “showboating” by issuing subpoenas. Issa responded by holding up one of the many pages in the official report given to him by the Justice Department that was completely redacted, and insisting it was important to be “thorough” in investigating the case. Issa said he was requesting other documents and e-mails from the Justice Department, but they have not been as open to cooperating as one might expect. Issa’s conclusion? “They know they made a horrible mistake.”

Very odd questioning from CBS, given a CBS reporter has done all the old fashion investigation of the ATF, DOJ and Gunrunning which brought the corruption into sunlight.

I do remember a reporter asking a ballplayer about the SF Giants Willie Montanez & the reply was “there is not enough mustard in the world to cover that hot dog”.

A CBS reporter has done some great investigative work. He could of used the program to showcase her work and what she uncovered. Instead he tries to discredit Issa for trying to hold them accountable.

I saw it as a fair question that Issa handled deftly. Sheryl Atkisson was at the table too. I thought it was a good interview.

Of course he's showboating... And he just made up the stories about Agent Terry's murder, and the roughly 200 innocent Mexicans killed with guns supplied by the Obama regime to the drug cartels. In fact, it was probably Issa who came up with this whole "operation" and made the BATFE carry it out, just to try to make the Obama regime look bad.

Considering the level of stupidity on display at ATF, the agency might want to consider an insanity defense.
