I think it was actually easier parenting when families were larger. When I was a kid there was the “kid world” and the “adult world”. We never expected adults to play with us (although it was fun when they did) there were always other kids around, siblings or neighbors. The adults didn’t need to drag us around to soccer practice or ballet. We were too busy climbing trees and playing kick ball.
By the time we were 7 or 8 my sisters and I were out of the house from sun up to sunset, meeting up with our parents only at meal time. I don’t think it was all that difficult to raise us.

I teach 6th grade as well and I was really saddened to find out that these kids had gotten that far with almost no knowledge of the Bible.

I'm not surprised; while there remains a significant portion of Americans who are committed to raising their children as Christians, Christianity itself has far less of an impact on the culture at large than it did 100 or even 50 years ago.

It’s exactly that kind of warm sunny sentiment from the crowd with kids that’s why people like me avoided breeding. It clearly isn’t as fulfilling as people insist, if it was you wouldn’t feel the need to wish ill upon people like that. I’m not defending anybody. I’m pointing out that you’re being insulting and rude, and that telling a person they should contemplate suicide is frankly evil. The only one looking foolish here is you, actually you’re looking a lot worse than foolish, where you’re at right now is about 30 points of bad WORSE than foolish.

So let’s look back at the statement I made back in post #65

The word “unless” has nothing to do with “Why don’t you”
or “you should” suicide. You may WANT it to say “Why don’t you” or “you should” but facts are stubborn things.
