It a good plan to get the country back on track again. I think it should go further but a good start. Would like to compare it to the other Republicans running when they give their plans.

From the Politico article on this. He’ll say that his plan for $1 trillion in cuts will create a balanced federal budget by the third year of his presidency.

“Presidential and Congressional pay is an obsession of the stupid and clueless.”

On the other hand, taking away Moochelle’s perpetual vacation budget would make us all feel better.

“Yea, we like ceaseless war in every hell-hole on earth, and sending tons of cash to all kinds of wierdo foreign governments!

No need to change anything.”

I'm not a big fan of our half-assed military interventions in the past 15 years, beginning with the disaster in Kosovo during the Clinton administration. However, Ron Paul would go much further than ending such mindless interventions by, for example, reducing the military budget by one-third. That reduction requires much more cutting than would be achieved by withdrawing all of our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.

I believe that people should be compensated for the value they bring to the job

At that rate, Obama should be paying us!

It would prevent otherwise good people from running for office (for example, a Joe the Plummer type).

When was the last time a "Joe the Plumber type" ran for the Presidency?

More to the point, when was the last time a "Joe the Plumber type" actually won -- so that he needed the paycheck?
