The front page of The Washington Post carried a story Tuesday on black liberals demanding all blacks stand with President Obama -- just because he's black.
“Let's not even deal with the facts right now. Let’s deal with just our blackness and pride — and loyalty,” [radio host Tom] Joyner wrote on his BlackAmericaWeb.com blog. “We have the chance to re-elect the first African-American president, and that’s what we ought to be doing. And I’m not afraid or ashamed to say that as black people, we should do it because he’s a black man.”
Following their logic, they should all rally behind Cain because he’s blacker.

I actually thought this was John’s semi-satire (courtesy ping, John). Truth is stranger (and uglier) than fiction.
So does that mean all whites should rally in unity around Santorum, Perry, Romney, etc., because they are white?
When your tribal self-identification is more important than your Americanism, you need to find another country in which to reside.
Imagine a radio host saying we should ignore everything else and just vote for the white candidate.

Do they not realize that blacks are the only race in America that gives 90% of its vote to ONE political party, decade after decade?
When an ENTIRE RACE gives almost its ENTIRE VOTE to ONE political party — thus demonstrating almost ZERO DIVERSITY of political thought — that’s a problem.
That’s not normal. Or healthy. And, more importantly, that result is simply NOT POSSIBLE if people are thinking for themselves, educating themselves on the issues, and reaching their own conclusions.
Ths is exactly what Herman Cain was talking about when he said many blacks are “brainwashed.” Or subject to fearmongering. How else do you explain this? NO race “thinks” in lockstep like this naturally.
Blacks in America will not truly be free as individuals until they countenance political diversity among blacks. So long as they, as these people in the article have done, seek to put social pressure on an ENTIRE RACE TO THINK AND ACT LIKE ROBOTS, what can be said?
Fortunately, more and more people are waking up to the fact that they are free to think for themselves, if they’ll just realize they can walk away from the fearmongers and locksteppers.
