OTOH, if the economy booms, your capital gains may extend out to your horizon, for all we know!
Or prices may be such that your cost of living goes down and you are tapping those savings less.
Either way, I would take a wait and see attitude toward that.
In the meantime, as a fellow American, I greatly appreciate your willingness to do what’s best for the country, even if it costs you. We won’t get anywhere without a lot of us accepting that “it’s not about me.”
