Clinton on Qaddafi: "We came, we saw, he died"
cbsnews ^ | October 20, 2011 | staff

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton shared a laugh with a television news reporter moments after hearing deposed Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi had been killed.

"We came, we saw, he died," she joked when told of news reports of Qaddafi's death by an aide in between formal interviews.

Clinton was in Tripoli earlier this week for talks with leaders of Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC).

The reporter asked if Qaddafi's death had anything to do with her surprise visit to show support for the Libyan people.

"No," she replied, before rolling her eyes and saying "I'm sure it did" with a chuckle.

This used to be called ‘a lack of gravitas’.

And I’m sure the left is in an uproar over such “cowboy” comments, right?

I'm imagining how the U.S. media would have reacted to, say, Condoleeza Rice making comments like that about Saddam Hussein while George W Bush was president.

The images aren't pretty. I wonder what their responses will be to this.

Oh well, nothing to see here, let's move along.

Somehow, the MSM overlooks ‘loudmouth jingoism’ coming from Evita and “O”.... but no Conservative could ever even hint at an expression like that!!

The death of a person may be necessary, but it is never a joke.

Is this woman losing it, or is this just arrogance of power? How fast are the Dems backing away from taking credit for Gaddafi's death. This was not a neat clean operation by a SEAL Team, or even a judicial process resulting in a botched hanging. This was a brutal murder by an angry mob. Before you all jump on me I could care less how he died, he was a dictator. But Hillary is so fast to take credit lets see how fast she backs off. BY the way while the Dems are trying to cut military benefits and retiree pensions, Hillary promised Billions to the HTC.

While I’m sure that Ms. Clinton meant it as some kind of a joke, that kind of humor is unbecoming a Secretary of State. Everybody knew that the US/Nato air war was ultimately targeting Khaddafi, yet in accordance with international norms they wouldn’t admit it. This ‘joke’ put the Truth out there for all to see. Other nations will take notice.

I thought the timing of Hillie’s presence in Libya was interesting, especially after hearing the size of the vehicle convoy Qaddafi was travelling in. I wonder if Barry bought himself a hit. And if so, what did it cost?

I remember in the 1970s the hysteria from the NYTimes, Wash. Post, and other mouth organs of the Left over the CIA’s plot to kill the phony thief Castro (an avowed enemy of the United States who tried to convince the horrified Russian military to do a “first strike” with nukes from Cuba, killing millions of Americans). The secretary of state is hysterical with glee over dead pictures of some jerk far away (that the US may have had a role in killing) and the same outfits say nothing. Its the same thing with campaign finance — where were Common Cause and Fred Wertheimer when Obama declined their treasured public financing and took billions from Wall Street and unknown donors while McCain made do on the limited public funding? Guantanamo - the left had hysterics over waterboarding mass murderers to find out wheter they would strike next; they remained alive, just a little wet. But they say NOTHING about knocking them off by the thousands by drones from the sky.
