The Vatican called on Monday for the establishment of a global public authority and a central world bank to rule over financial institutions that have become outdated and often ineffective in dealing fairly with crises. The document from the Vaticans Justice and Peace department should please the Occupy Wall Street demonstrators and similar movements around the world who have protested against the economic downturn.
Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of a Global Public Authority, was at times very specific, calling, for example, for taxation measures on financial transactions. The economic and financial crisis which the world is going through calls everyone, individuals and peoples, to examine in depth the principles and the cultural and moral values at the basis of social coexistence, it said.

This is different...it’s relative to who you hate or like.
You will always have that because of sin. Putting everything under one umbrella is dangerous and demonic.
This is not teaching on the subject of faith or morals, therefore subject to error.
Exactly. And of course this “Justice and Peace” department is made up of nothing but the raving, often Third-World leftists who ruined the Church in Latin America with their “Liberation Theology” garbage decades ago.
Bit by bit, some of the latter group has either aged out or been removed, but I see the bureacracy has thoughtfully provided them a home in Rome.
Why does Lucifer like the new world order, and how did you get this info?
Narses, what do you make of this?
What would you suggest is the proper interval to wait before concluding the Church gives its tacit approval? A day, a week, a millennium?
Wow, the Pope just pulled a Fonzie and jumped a really really big shark.
“...The document from the Vaticans Justice and Peace department ...”
Holy Cow!! When did Dennis Kucinich become Pope????!?!?!?!
Was I asleep or what?
I would like to take this opportunity to say that anyone in the Vatican and anyone outside the Vatican that thinks this is a good idea can go fornicate themselves with an iron stick.
With all due respect.
Janet Napolitano runs a huge empire of intelligence and policing agencies. This Vatican Peace and Justice outfit is just a few guys sitting in an office. They don’t have any power over Catholic missionaries in the field, who are supervised by local bishops or the superiors of their various orders.
They’d be like Janet Napolitano, maybe, if they had a few million agents all over the world putting Catholics through scanners. But they don’t. Nor do they speak for the Church or the Pope.
Not a sensible analogy.
It’s still a bad idea, whether it has the Pope’s approval, or not.
Will they never give it up?
As a practicing Catholic I have to say, NO, I do not agree with the Vatican. I don’t think that they are doing themselves any favors by putting their 2 cents in either.

And what about, "sell what you have, give it to the poor, come follow Me"?
Seems the Vatican has forgotten the above as it continues to hoard its priceless treasures.
The Vatican should know about idols.
A free market is the system that is compatible with freedom, Biblical justice, the nature of man as a rational being, and God-given natural rights. It has nothing to do with idolatry.
