Sounds silly, but Bob Casey won himself a Pennsylvania Senate seat with a not dissimilar argument.

What these ideological resentful jerks don’t acknowledge is that wealth is not something that just ‘exists’. Wealth is the result of effort, risk taking, and innovation. It’s not something that is there at baseline, to just be harvested and distributed. If you take away the incentive of those who create wealth, you will not have wealth. It’s that simple.

Further, Charlie, if you don’t have wealth as a nation, it doesn’t matter who you put on the battlefield. You can’t fight a war without weapon systems and money. Poor countries with big populations are not necessarily world powers. Further, compare the standard of living of poor in this country, with the average standard of living in much of the world. Even the poorest here in the US live relatively well, Charlie, because the cumulative wealth here is higher - thanks to a system that allows people to benefit from their own efforts.

Ok Charlie, which one of your beach houses are you willing to give up for the cause?

He means reparations when he and his ilk talk of wealth redistribution.

What most of these people (libs) aren’t getting is: taxes are not the only thing that redistributes the wealth. How about jobs? Jobs that the wealthy create. THEY pay the wages for the people they hire, NOT the government. So, I would say they ARE paying “their fair share”after all, yes? I wish THAT would get pointed out to the libs; also, NO ONE questions WHY they need to pay more in taxes. For what? So the “demons” can keep on spending OUR money on what THEY want, or giving it away to other countries?? THAT”S why the wealthy have to pay more??

“Rep. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) spoke after Rangel and argued and the U.S. as a nation is not broke, even though the federal government is broke. the U.S. is effectively keeping the federal government broke by not taxing the wealthy, he said.”

Rep Murphy is welcome to move to Cuba. Before he does, how about APOLOGIZING to the slim percentage of Americans that pay the majority of our taxes? What rate is the correct rate Mr. Murphy? 60%? 70%? 95%? At what point should hardworking Americans simply acknowledge their status as slaves? Further, how incredibly insulting to suggest more ‘revenue’ is needed when so much of our tax dollars are pissed away.

I like Perry’s plan. I like parts of Cain’s plan. I sure as hell hate the notion that we need to further tax ANYONE, especially those who create jobs and invest in our economy!

Can these dems just come out of the political closet start flying their sicle and hammer flag as the party logo?

AND, if you redistribute the wealth enough (give it all to the poor), then the poor become the rich. Then what? Redistribute again? And, as Poster #23 said, where would the incentive be to become wealthy and prosperous. These idiots are not thinking this thru - and they never will, as they are not logical.
