He is the man with the mustache who takes a rebellious drag on a cigarette in the Herman Cain Internet ad gone viral.

"We've run a campaign like nobody's ever seen," he says before taking a puff. "But then America's never seen a candidate like Herman Cain."

Meet Mark Block, Cain's unorthodox campaign manager. Perhaps no one is more responsible for the Georgia businessman's meteoric rise in the presidential polls than Block, a Republican strategist and tea party

Yeh...but if Perry ran an ad like that, they'd be all over him. And if Perry proposed electocuting Mexicans, they'd be all over him. And if Perry proposed 999, they'd be all over him.

Cain is getting a free ride....for now.

The two DWI beefs with all the other allegations make me wonder what the heck Cain is thinking having anything to do with this guy.

Thanks for posting.

There is absolutely no doubt...he is pro choice.

Let's remember....He's a man to start with and will never have to worry about making such a decision so he can swear up and down until the cows come home that he is pro-life.

As far as the $1 million he spent on promoting pro life...First, it was PAC money. Second...Donna Brazille said it was an effective maneuver in getting votes.

I’m outraged at Block that he didn’t think outside the box and give out free cigarettes to voters in Milwaukee.

Looks like the same crap the Cuomo camp did to me during the governors race a couple years ago. Statewide ads, wall street journal, NY Post, NY Times etc wrote hit pieces on me. Same BS, different day. Do what ever it takes to make a good candidate look bad.

Read the article. The guy says he has stopped drinking. Just like George W. Bush.

Let’s face it, campaign directors are just a different breed - all knuckles and elbows - and all campaigns have guys like him. If Cain connected with Block, then that’s all I need to know. He probably liked his survival instincts.

Block has been accused of voter suppression and was banned from running Wisconsin political campaigns for three years to settle accusations he coordinated a judge's re-election campaign with a special interest group.

Records show Block has faced foreclosure on his home, a tax warrant by the Internal Revenue Service and a lawsuit for an unpaid bill. He also acknowledges he was arrested twice for drunken driving.

On the presidential trail, some former Cain staffers say Block broke promises. Traditional GOP strategists have been scratching their heads at his renegade tactics to win the White House, all but ignoring some early states in favor of a book tour and swings through states without early primaries.

Those who know Block say he's long been a maverick who isn't afraid to reset boundaries.

"Mark doesn't go to the how-to-run a campaign guidebook when deciding how to do things," said Jared Thomas, who was a state director for the anti-tax group Americans for Prosperity Georgia when Block led the Wisconsin chapter. "He's all about advancing conservative ideals and conservative goals, and he really doesn't mind stepping on toes in the process."

Love this guy already! He has a well lived life.
We need this "take no prisoners" attitude; you can't win the battle with half measures. Anybody who tries to impose restrictions on our side that the enemy is free to disregard (ala "civility" and the like) should be treated as an agent provocateur angling for failure.

I am 100% voting for Rick Perry but I actually like the ad and I like the fact that this guy is willing to get dirty for the cause. I don't care about past transgressions. I think Cain is a great asset to the Conservative cause and will be for years to come.

That said, Rick Perry is the best candidate but the conservative movement and the liberty movement needs the Samuel Adams kinda guys too, and that's how I see Cain and his boys.

SHAME on Fox News for re-publishing this AP BS DRIVEL!

Why exactly is it drivel? Does the public not have a right to know the following details about Cain's campaign manager:

Block has been accused of voter suppression and was banned from running Wisconsin political campaigns for three years to settle accusations he coordinated a judge's re-election campaign with a special interest group.

Records show Block has faced foreclosure on his home, a tax warrant by the Internal Revenue Service and a lawsuit for an unpaid bill. He also acknowledges he was arrested twice for drunken driving.

If this were Romney or Obama's campaign manager, would you be saying the same thing?

The guy has a pretty disturbing past. 2 arrests for drunk driving, tax warrant against him for unpaid bills, home foreclosed on, etc.

Why is it drivel that the media make this information available? Or are you just mad because you support Cain and don't like to see any stories that paint him or his campaign in a negative light?

There’s absolutely no doubt that Rick Perry is an pandering, phony, corrupt, imbecile who is polling less than 10% nationally these days. So why don’t you 3rd tier candidate supporters take your obvious lies and smears and stuff them.

But let’s not pay attention to the “checkered past” of Barack Obama. Furthermore, Herman Cain’s aid isn’t running for president.

I don’t know the particulars of his situation but if this all happened to him in Wisconsin, which was a ‘Rat majority state until recently, it fits the standard ‘Rat MO of personally destroying political opponents by forcing them out of politics and into things like stocking shelves at Target. I like the idea of a campaign manager who not only can recover from that but also has a personal reason the despise ‘Rats.

I doubt his 2 drunk driving arrests, foreclosure and IRS problems have anything to do with Democrats in Wisconsin trying to destroy him. It just sounds like the guy has a checkered past and there isn't a thing in the world wrong with the media digging up the information and putting it out there. If this was Romney or Obama's campaign manager I don't believe you or anyone else here would be saying the same thing.

I like the idea of a campaign manager who not only can recover from that but also has a personal reason the despise ‘Rats.

Again, if the campaign manager of someone you didn't like had this sort of past, I seriously doubt you'd be so willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. More likely, people would be saying "how could a serious candidate hire a guy like this!".

There is nothing wrong with Fox distributing this story. Cain's campaign manager seems to have a pile of skeletons in his closet - better to get it out now than have it hurt him later. With this kind of past, I am betting there is more to come.

And if Perry proposed electocuting Mexicans...

Here's a clue for you. An electric fence isn't intended to electrocute anyone or anything, nor is one capable of delivering a lethal shock.

It's intended to create respect for the fence and the border that it protects. As it stands, Mexicans have absolutely no respect for the border. Too many years of Democrat and RINO rule has done that for us.
