Morocco Terrorist Given Death Sentence

A Moroccan court found on Friday the chief suspect guilty in the April 28 bombing of a Marrakesh café and sentenced him to death, The Associated Press reported.

17 people were killed in that terror attack, including Israeli citizen Michal Weitzmann Zikri and her husband Masoud Zikri, a native of Morocco. The two were in the country to celebrate Passover with Masoud’s family.

They were survived by their two-year-old son, who was with his grandparents at the time of the attack. Michal was six months pregnant when she was killed.

Prosecutors had accused Adel al-Othmani of dressing like a tourist and planting the bomb in the Argana café, then setting it off with his mobile phone. He was convicted of premeditated murder and building explosives, among other charges, AP noted.

The court handed down a life prison term an associate of al-Othmani, Hakim Dah. Four other defendants who had knowledge of the attack were given four-year terms, while three others were given two-year prison terms.

According to AP, al-Othmani’s brother screamed after the verdict was announced, “Morocco is a country that kills, it wants to kill my brother.”

This is amazing! Islamic country, terrorist kills Jooos! visiting, and terrorist gets death sentence, not acquittal and hero's parade. This is man bites dog. Moroccan royal family was always known for its affection for Jews, but that could not stop the usual perennial pogroms and dhimmi-style persecution that typifies life among the Moose Limbs.

Morocco is going to be the location of my 5th novel, and I chose it partly for the reasons exposed in this story. If one islamic nation of the Maghreb can resist totalitarian islamism, it might just be Morocco. The king is extremely westernized, and his red-headed Berber wife (who looks very European) is generally photographed, even officially, with her long tresses flowing. This is a clear message to the society at large that the sharia-freaks had better mind their manners. Morocco depends on European tourism, and bikinis are worn by European girls on the tourist beaches. The king even surfs. It'll be quite a test of the King's will if the islamic radicals try to wreck Morocco's golden ticket of tourism. Anyway, the above is a lot of the reason for my next novel to be set there.

So, when does NATO attack? Y'know, because the EU is dead set against the death penalty, and will kill as many as necessary to make Islamic hell-holes safe for shariah law and summary, extrajudicial murders.
