I don't think so. I think Baraq is a landslide loser in 2012.

Yes, if the R's run somebody who actually has a different platform than Barry.

I won't vote for Romney under any circumstances. The only way to get RINOs in Congress to stand up to the progressive platform is if there's a D in office, or a Reagan. And even with a Reagan, they drag their feet.

The SS money was put into special Treasury bonds. They are supported by the full faith and credit of the US Gov, just like the bonds that China owns.

The inflation in medical and living costs that will bankrupt SS and Medicare was caused by Alan Simpson & his cronies. As was the inflation in expenditures caused by letting every vagrant who wanders across the borders onto the SS and Medicare lists.

That things don't add up should be an argument for jailing folks like Alan Simpson who promised that they would add up, not for getting nasty about the folks who got robbed.

Having paid into medicare all my life, I now would rather drop it altogether, but I'm not allowed. Eventually, it seems my entire SS payment (which is fixed) will go to medicare (which is not), and it's likely that whatever medical support I want won't be covered by medicare.

Just as I remember it - and you got the accent about perfect as well!

Thankee. And it was 1965, not 1968.

Consider the last four presidents the Democrats have given us:

1. LBJ 2. Jimmeh Cahtuh 3. Der Schlickmeister 4. Obozo

Who was the most competent? Clinton?

Who had the most integrity? Carter?

On the other hand, who was the more corrupt?

And who was the most utterly incapable?

Talk about a "slow track"...

This email was in response to Simpson’s comments that baby boomers were “greedy”. These comments came while he was serving on Obama’s debt commission.

SS has served as the government slush fund since 1942.

That's true - but dems and their butt boys in the press kept VEEEEERY quiet about it until just recently. They also kept secret the fact that Senator Byrd was a former KKK member. Odd how dem secrets have a way of NOT coming out.

Yes, I know that. Here is the FR thread on it.

But they were never “safely tucked away in an interest bearing account”, and even if they had been, they would not have come close to being enough.

Free health care without rationing requires European-Canadian levels of taxation. Anybody who says otherwise is an idiot or a liar.

No person currently receiving Medicare has paid for what they consume. Not even close.

“No person currently receiving Medicare has paid for what they consume. Not even close.”

But don’t all the people who paid medicare taxes then die before even taking a penny in benefirs make up the difference?

Even at *that* level of taxation, rationing is still present. Why else would any Canadian, European, et al with two nickels to rub together comes *here* for any major health care? Do you believe that is a coincidence?

Europeans and Canadians come here for health care because we have a vibrant private system which is not controlled by the government.

That has zero to do with my argument about Medicare.

Medicare provides free unlimited on-demand healthcare for its "beneficiaries", and it is currently collecting about ten cents on the dollar to cover payouts.

IF persons >65 are going to continue to receive free unlimited on-demand healthcare taxes have to be massively increased.

Only in our idiot political system is that even remotely controversial.

And, yes, since I know that taxes are not going to be increased, it follows, ipso facto, that the gravy train is going to end.

Even then, it is important to note, it then requires doctors willing to max out their earnings somewhere under about 100k. (average salary of a general physician in Sweden is about 65k a year). It requires nurses to work for even less.

Who the hell is going to sign up for that?

“Maybe” but she’s had SRS since February when he originally sent it.

His/Her point #3 seems to imply that when I pay into SS the money is put into an account for me later, which has never been the way SS was implemented.
