Here are some highlights from HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius's conference call with reporters Monday morning to talk about President Obama's new executive order, which is intended to provide more medicine to treat deadly diseases:
-- Obama "felt the executive order was the most appropriate way to highlight the problem and actually call for a collaborative approach to solve the problem on behalf of patients in this country," Sebelius said.
-- "Within the drug shortage program itself, we are planning to effectively double the staff, and we expect that they will be kept busy working on the additional information that we hope to be getting about potential shortages, working on the analysis of trends," FDA Commissioner Peggy Hamburg said. She added that six people would join the five currently in the program.

More Federal employees to monitor the shortages? How does that translate to more medicines available?
ogee imagine her being an apologist for this. i wonder on what page the ghettos and death camps are on.
In my opinion, we are witnessing history repeating itself and the beginning of Holocaust II brought to you by Obama, Reid, Pelosi and the rest of the ghouls in this Regime and in Congress. Think not; think again!
Yep only this time they intend to allow nature to take it’s course and anyone unlucky enough to be stuck by one of the diseases that is experiencing shortages will be the ones chosen.I keep wishing that every one of them have it happen to their families and they not get treated any different than anyone else would be.
Gearing up for mandatory vaccines - Bill Gates on their board?
Money for them (most of them have stocks in the drug companies that make the drugs) - and even Bill Gates slipped and alluded to vaccines helping in their ZERO population agenda.
FDA largely caused the drug shortage problem.
