Another 19 participants in the Occupy Sacramento movement made their first court appearance today on charges that they violated late-night curfews at Cesar Chavez Park.

Cres Vellucci, vice chair of the local American Civil Liberties Union board and a spokesman for the protesters in Sacramento Superior Court today, said "everyone's going to plead not guilty" and ask for a jury trial.

Goal driven chaos to overwhelm the system.

Lawyers have advised (Nationwide), that if OWS'ers get arrested, they should demand jury trials to flood the courts with cases (straight out of the Alinskey playbook).

They should PRAY they don't get me on one of those Juries.....

I have NO USE for those who choose to break the Law, and expect leniency or sympathy.

10 minutes per side for jury selection. Two minutes per side for opening statement. 30 minutes for each side to present their case, two minutes for closing statement. If found guilty, 180 days executed in jail.

Next case.

I could try three a day, all week long.

I’m guessing most will want court appointed attorneys so the taxpayers can pick up the tab.

"I’m guessing most will want court appointed attorneys so the taxpayers can pick up the tab"

Because MOST major cities are Democrat enclaves, even though a Court-Appointed Attorney is for those who cannot afford one, the rich kids will seek them out (at the instructions of the Dem-paid Legal Counsel advising the OWSer's) so they can overwhelm the Court for more FREE Attorneys than they have available....this is also intended in the over-whelming of the System plans.

I think lynching will come back in vogue in a very few years, at this rate. Neighborhoods will police their own territories, like in the good ol' days. Outsiders will NOT be judged kindly.

One more reason jurors should learn their rights. To take the courts away from judges, prosecutors, and attorneys and put it back in the hands of the jurors.

Obviously liberal jurors will let them walk but conservative jurors will convict and send a massage that the behavior won’t be tolerated.

Try them all together as accomplices, reject any motions to sever, and allow no continuances.

I’ve long wondered why in this country dedicated to natural rights, why juries never sit on questions of the Constitutionality of laws.

Its partly because an 1895 supreme court decision declared that jurors “need not be informed of their rights”.

Instant stupid jurors.

I’m encouraged to see that some of our local tea party groups have taken up the banner of juror education.

My experience with Conservatives on a Jury is that they rule ON THE LAW, while Liberals rule "to make a social statement", when they don't think it's a good law or they are sympathetic towards the perp (an OJ Jury, etc.).

I would guess I've spent more time in a Jury Box than 80% or more of those who have been called (was once Sequestered for 3 months on a Criminal Trial).

This is an organized group of people, who knowingly and intentionally engaged in illegal activities.

Why not engage the RICO statutes? Try them all at the same time, and give them the RICO mandated penalties.

They really aren’t thinking this through because trust me, there is nothing I would be more open to than having more of the state in my life while I’m serving on jury duty!
