Rick is directly responsible for coddling illegals in Texas. If he will do that at the state level, he’ll certainly attempt it at the federal level. Rick has a BIG heart for illegals that can’t be restricted to just the state of Texas.

I always knew I should have stuck with Bachmann. For all her flaws, she votes conservative. LOL

Cain isn’t anything near a moron and can prove unlike a certain president I know. If you are going start name calling I suggest starting with something that has some basis in truth. Like callying Romney a “two faced liar” for example.

Good lord. Why waste time with these anti-Perry trolls. They spew their DU talking points, lie their asses off, then do it again

So, then, what is factually wrong about this post that SoConPubbie made? You are saying he is lying, so show where the lies are:

So he’s against the following:

1. Physical Border Fence
2. E-Verify
3. AZ1070 and any similiar laws
So how’s he going to secure the border again?

What a candy @SS. Give me 90 days, possibly less:

1) Declare eminent domain over every strip of land with 50 yards of the border.

2) Apply necessary signage, identifying that illegal crossings may result

3) Every 1,000 yards, erect an observation tower manned by a three person team equipped with night vision and .50 cal’s.

4) Apply land mines as necessary with the 50 yard zone.

5) apply signs stating that those injured by attempting to cross illegally will not be recovered, nor aided in anyway, and will be allowed to fertilize our great nation’s soil.

6) Any groups, businesses and/or individuals found to be aiding, hiding, or facilitating an illegal’s presence within U.S. borders will have their citizenship revoked, forfeit all properties, and be provided with a one-way ticket to destination of their choice ( costs to be paid for from confiscated proceeds). Failing any nation willing to take their sorry behinds, the individual will be deposited on and island ( the crappier the better) not possessed by any recognized nation.

Good leadership, for one. Aren’t the other candidates finally addressing the tax code and spending because of his lead?

"With electronic surveillance and drones you would only need about 1/4 that force on the ground."

I don't know how many are on the southern border -CNN says about 4- but they need many more. It is an incredibly useful tool.

But M.B. may be the most true conservative, but has made too many odd errors and to be honest I would prefer her to move up in the house than to fail on the big ticket

No they didn’t, I live in Arizona. They put NG troops down there, gave them no guns, and made them stay in the BP office and do paperwork. The drones never got going, all they did was try out cameras that were made my some big contributor and then took them down before they could really be tested.

Okay, thanks. It looks like this talking point (along with so many others) has been taken out of context. Here's what Perry said:
"President Fox’s vision for an open border is a vision I embrace, as long as we demonstrate the will to address the obstacles to it. An open border means poverty has given way to opportunity, and Mexico’s citizens do not feel compelled to cross the border to find that opportunity. It means we have addressed pollution concerns, made substantial progress in stopping the spread of disease, and rid our crossings of illicit drug smuggling activity."
Did anyone read the entire thing? Perry in essence says that an open border is a grand idea, but it's a fantasy unless Mexico deals with the problems that make its citizens want to flee here.

They will simply detour a hundred miles or so to the west and come in through that section.

Or dig tunnels under the fence, like they already do in California.

And do you seriously think it would be any different with the fedgov in Texas? Seriously?

There is an advantage to a fence. It cannot be turned off (like the virtual fence) or ignored or not issued bullets.

Yeah, the fence in California is not 100 percent effective. But it appears to be 90 percent effective, which is pretty darn good for anything the fedgov does. Fence opponents are engaged in the classic exercise of trying to make the perfect the enemy of the good. There is a reason why every secure facility has a fence around it. You still need patrols and guards. But they go a lot further when they are patrolling a fence instead of open country.

At best, as he usually qualifies, Perry’s idea of securing the border is stopping overt Mexican gang activity directly along any towns and cities.

Good article!

Once again, it’s unfortunate that when conservatives hold their candidate’s `feet to the fire’ the Perry supporters start name-calling.
Like that old board game for girls, `Mystery Date’ we open the door and there’s this (apparently) perfect guy: good looking, a little tongue-tied/shy, hard worker, same/similar interests, makes his own clothes ... but then we find he has (it could be anything, but we’ll say) a little gambling problem.
So he proposes marriage and we bring up the problem. His family says, “Forget about it! What’s wrong with you? Say `Yes’!”
Argument has been defined as reasoned debate tested by doubt. Immigration is Perry’s `Achilles Heel.’ Again he has been given the opportunity but failed to convince us that he has a problem. Again, Perry’s supporters, like their candidate, display their shortcomings. Too bad, once again.
