God bless you.

I don’t believe the accusations at this point, but the women who are involved, really it seems more like they’ve been outed, deserve better than they have received on this forum. I too have a family member who was a rape victim, my sister, and she had all sorts of disparaging things said about her by the popular college student’s supporters. They had bullied other victims into silence.

Conservatives should behave better than this.

It’s impossible to say whether or not there was a pattern of such behavior before or after the alleged incidents at the NRA. Now that these claims have been made public, others may or may not come to light. We’ll have to see what happens. I’m not going to judge Cain (or the accusers) until I see more facts.

FYI...Cain will be on Hannity’s radio show during the entire 4:00 pm EDT hour.

Again if he speaks to this smear campaign he will cut his own throat...but might be his plan and way to step out of a race, he's way in over his head on now. in the days to come. Sad to see him feeding the dogs.

If Cain implodes, then we’ll get see how Romney or Perry, whoever gets the nomination, handles this next year. Because I guarantee that Mr. Bennett will be back in October 2012, with new anonymous clients who have serious grievances against the candidate, but who, for the sake of their families, do not wish to be exposed to public scrutiny, and have instead opted to speak anonymously through their representative, Mr. Bennett.

Well, good luck with that.

Yep. Cain is not following it. One thing I love about Cain is Cain will do what he thinks is the best thing to do. Not what others tell him. Unless those others know more than him on the subject.

I am not saying that. Merely that characterizing his behavior as “harassment” rather than “adultery” is deeply disingenuous.

To liberals “adultery” is a sacrament, while they view "sexual harassment" as a mortal sin and something that, by definition, can only be done by conservatives. When liberals do the exact same things it's evidence of their enlightened and relaxed attitudes. In their minds it's like racism, something that a black person cannot, by definition, be capable of. Even though, as a group, the most racist people in the world are American blacks.

You sound just like the clown rush hung upon. Now how about going after some sugar for my coffee sweetie. Damn there I go with sexual harassment again.

“I am upset with them all right now and am truly disappointed with so many in our party taking notoriety and personality over real living, breathing human beings, no matter how ordinary they may be.”

What real people are we talking about? The ones we learn about from third parties through hearsay? The ones about whom we learn nothing very substantial, only vague hints about non-overtly sexual impropriety, purported feelings of hurt, and suspicious sleeping circumstances? That doesn’t exactly amount to real people and real feelings, yet.

If it turns out true, and Cain is a bad man, I might feel bad. Except I’m not saying Cain isn’t guilty of something (most likely moral, probably not criminal). I don’t know. All I’m doing is doubting, and not projecting wild fantasies of abstract Women In Distress.

I would not categorize them as sluts. It is highly probable they are vindictive or opportunists or vindictive opportunists.

Women do lie about these things. Remember Crystal? This type of behavior is not limited to skanky whores. Unless they are willing to come forward with contemporaneous documentation I will assume none of this is true.

The media (right and left) are doing to Herman Cain what they did to the Duke LAX players. After all, “something happened.”

Here's the thing. Sexual Harassment lawsuits like this are all BS. There is no personal responsibility on the part of the woman in these cases. They apparently consent to whatever sexual advances on the theory that they think they need to do this to keep their jobs and then the second they find themselves in this position, they quit their jobs and file a suit for millions.

I guess the whole concept of consenting adults goes out the window with "Sexual Harassment" lawsuits.

Personally I don't believe any of them. IMHO if the conduct does not rise to the level of a crime, it should not rise to the level of a tort.

You should consult a corporate attorney on that. Take a college course on ‘sexual harassment in the workplace’.

Many of the current accepted standards don't seem logical, fair, or anything close to it, but that is how it is today.

Just because opponets state the obvious doesn’t make it untrue. Cain is not handling this well...and that’s pretty obvious...to speak on Hannity in the next moments isn’t going to help him if he keeps on feeding the animals...he’s just not doing well in this and is playign a role now in this scandal nonsense....he needs to have made a statement and then let it go...he’s not.

“I too have a family member who was a rape victim”

There’s the rape word again. I don’t get it. It’s one thing to think people on this board, and conservatives in general, are jumping to conclusions, and being unfair and insensitive. Quite another to compare this situation to rape. Even if it was harassment and enough to oust Cain from the race, I am almost certain it wasn’t rape. Were it, you’d be hearing entire orchestras of bells and whistles pointing to it, instead of the vague hints of impropriety we get.

I’m also sure, nonetheless, that various people want you to think of rape. They benefit, whether politically or career-wise, by you filling in the gaps with your worst nightmares.

Yes of course but liberals who watch the film and imagine that they are Gregory Peck are actually the townspeople who are complicit in the railroading of Tom.

Who will be the Gregory Peck of the GOP? Cain himself?

Just want to point out that the article/story has changed. They retracted the part about her sleeping in his bed. They also retract the comment that they went in a taxi together. The retractions are the end of the article in the original link above, and the article has been updated.

I replied to all of you because you all replied to Longbow’s original post. Not sure what to make of it but it appears the author got ahead of himself on the original article and was apparently corrected by his source.

I completely agree with you.

If the encounter goes well, it is called a marriage....or an “association”

In the military, they have strict UCMJ rules about fraternization that make these things impossible to defend because of their very nature. But, in the civilian world, there is no law against “dating” or “encountering”.

Dismissing Cain because of these anonymous smears is unwise.

Ordinarily I'd agree but I am not convinced he really wants the Presidency since he has risen so fast...I think he's determining that as he goes now...if or not he's going to carry this to the end.

You don't believe the accusations but say the women should be treated better?

Stunning bit of logic there.

How do you think liars who attempt to take down political candidates should be treated?

casinva, I didn’t know about your daughter, I am so sorry. I can’t even imagine what that must have been like for you and your husband to have to go through with your daughter, she is very lucky to have had you there to help her through it.

Nah, I just don’t think Herb Cain is up to the job of being POTUS with how he’s handled this mess. It’s true that posters on this site did not give Clinton a pass. Hell they used to dress up as Clinochio and Monica to protest him.
