Oakland developer Phil Tagami is used to working behind the scenes to broker some of the biggest deals in town. Late Wednesday, he was using different persuasive skills - holding a loaded shotgun to scare away rioters trying to get into a downtown building.
"We had people who were attempted to break into our building," the landmark Rotunda Building on Frank Ogawa Plaza outside City Hall, Tagami said today. He grabbed a shotgun that he usually keeps at home, went down to the ground floor and "discouraged them," he said.
No police were in sight, he said.

From stories we’ve heard from Tucson old-timers, it used to be safe here when the Mob was in charge (well, for ordinary people, I guess). Now, it’s like some 3rd world, people’s republic, police won’t even go into most neighborhoods — including ours — (a working class formerly decent one).
About a year back, Glenn Beck was trying to get a response from police union officials about their union aligning themselves with people like Van Jones who happily supports cop killers.
Naturally the union wouldn’t respond but he did get a large number of letters from individual cops who are real concerned about it.
Are the Hells Angels available?
Didn’t they do a bang-up job at some west coast rock concerts?
Calling all Hells Angels.
Just a matter of time!
Perhaps not in the days of La Cosa Nostra, but from what we've seen of these guys, they can be quite flexible, they will adapt to prevailing conditions.
Its not as if they have any particular moral conviction. (I know, I know: only indictments, no convictions)
In the Hell’s Angels defense, they stabbed a guy trying to murder Mick Jagger. They maybe went overboard and made hamburger out of him, but the guy had a gun and was stopped pretty close to Mick. IMO, it isn’t about the Hell’s Angels. It is about right of lethal defense. They may have gone too far, but I’ll take that over Mick being shot and killed in cold blood

If you go by the Occupy Oakland site, the first thing you will see are two large banners: Abolish Capital and Close All Prisons.
Paging Angela Davis....
They aren't even smart enough to know they need one, or they'd be asking for free ones.
Altamont—Where the ‘60s died.
I thought Oakland was already an urban hell hole.
It appears community organizing = “fomenting and achieving revolution” a la 1917-21.
Many of the Occupiers throughout the nation do not realize they are being used as tools by anti-Americans who wish to dramtically transform (remake, not rebuild) our country.
As your comments re the education system suggest, how can we be surprised?
Are our RINO’s paying attention?
Isn't that what they're for?
While you’re wielding a loaded shotgun, seldom is heard a discouraging word.
We are attaining the “existential” level of so called “inevitable” frictions and conflict. Blood will be drawn and anger on both side is to ripple, bridges burned etc. The idiot psycho democrates will “use” (rather be used) to legitimize foreign thugs to rape it all.
If you do not have the arms nor the will to defend self/freedom, you invested without real responsible will, and folkes might as well forfeit.
Others feel shackled and will be given force to free themselves.
Capitalism may attract volatilizing exuberance and speculation, but at least it’s not volatile weathervane nonsense whim of lunatic ignorant commi protestors who destroy walstreet wokers to start wih.
Shades of FARC.
Good ole Angela (/s), is she still hanging out with that commie University Prof in SD. Or has she kicked the bucket?
Ofcourse they want the prisons closed, they think nothing of raping and destroying public and private property. These people are the dregs of society.
YOU KNOW HIM ON A FIRST NAME BASIS!?
