New Ad Compares Herman Cain to Clarence Thomas

November 4, 2011

(WASHINGTON) -- An emotionally charged new video obtained by ABC News from the group Americans for Herman Cain portrays the sexual harassment story as a racially motivated effort to destroy Herman Cain.

The video ends with Clarence Thomas’ closing statement at his 1991 confirmation hearing: “This is a circus. It is a national disgrace. It is a high tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves. It is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order you will be lynched, destroyed caricatured rather than hung from a tree.”

As Thomas speaks, the video superimposes the words “Don’t let the LEFT do it again.”

Americans for Herman Cain is a so-called Super PAC independent of his campaign. A spokesman for the group tells ABC News the ad will run on television in Iowa next week and in a series of Internet ads on the Drudge Report and elsewhere. It will also be emailed to 25,000 Republicans in Iowa.

Where’s the blue dress????

It is a shame that any American would allow media to attempt these attacks....

They cannot allow us to choose our own candidate- it is THEIR job and they will destroy any threat to their power...

Thank GOD Cain is the kind of man who will not back down, run, or hide.....I just pray we are strong enough to finally stand up to them and not back down this time.

We claim we want these kind of folks in office, but are we willing to be as strong as we expect our public servants to be?

So far it looks like we are up to the job....NOW is NOT the time to allow them to wear us down...

I’ve said for a couple of days that it looks like Cain is using this story to get some sympathy money.

This story, if it is as ‘nothing’ as it appears, should have been history in 24 hours.

Something or someone has kept it alive. I’m beginning to think it’s Cain. It’s been a good fundraising tool for him.

I think it’s a little tacky to try to hang onto Clarence Thomas’ coattails on this.

This ad kinda proves to me that I am right.

Yeah—

Cain planted the story with Politico as a fund raising event...He has clearly shown he likes to talk about anything other than solutions to the problems we face...

I think this ad speaks to the truth. Cain supporters are pushing back against what they did to Thomas and to put Thomas in the public view again is good for younger people to see.

I don’t like what Politico did. It’s shoddy, gotcha type leftist crap trying to pass itself off as journalism. We should fight that sort of garbage.

I also don’t like what Cain has done in trying to pin it all on Rick Perry. He pulled the same stunt with the rock story. I’d be alot more inclined to be sympathetic toward Cain if he hadn’t lashed out with no proof of his accusations. By doing that, he put himself in the same category as Politico as far as I’m concerned.

It’s excellent. The leftist media is exposed for the anti-American fraud that it is.

Some are going to say our side shouldn’t use the “race card”.

But, I’m sick and tired of the left getting away with false accusations of racism to silence opposition, all the while they themselves ARE racists.

Take the whole darn deck of race cards and choke them with it.

IMO, the tragedy here is that--instead of being held up as role models for their race and as a shining example that black people can rise to the top of either political party--Cain and Thomas are ridiculed and scorned by the very people who, at the very least, should be respectful of their accomplishments.

What will future lesson plans in the primary education system have to say about either man?

How can he put an end to the story when no specifics have come out.

Even if all the accusations are true they add up to nothing. There was no overt sexual talk or groping, Asking someone to doctor your tea is not harassment. Noting someones height in relation to your wife's height is hardly over the top. Even sharing a Taxi and allowing a drunk coworker to sleep it off in your ‘Corporate Apartment’ is not all that unseemly. Particularly when any severance pay would be under six figures.

He is handling his as well as can be expected. He has denied doing anything wrong, has pointed out his suspicions (and they are very logical) as to who may be behind them, and he has turned into the money spigot. He should openly call for donations on every program that he appears. “If you are disturbed by the high tech lynching of all conservatives by the MSM, Please,go to my website and donate $9.99, $19.99, $99.99, $999. to show your displeasure. We hope to raise $19.99 Million this quarter to stamp out Obama and his minions in the MSM.”

BTW Perry had his chance to show that he could do the job. He has been shown to be tongue tied and a little offensive to those who believe that Illegal Aliens are thieves steeling jobs, opportunities and driving down the wages of the workers of this country. We do not believe that they should be rewarded with tax payer subsidized education for college.

Let’s not call it MSNBC anymore. Call it by its real name: MSDNC or MSLSD.

Well, that could be.

But Cain is no Clarence Thomas.

I think the Clarence Thomas connection has benefited Cain from the start .. it’s the link to Clarence Thomas, a dear friend of Rush’s, that got Rush so passionately on the side of Cain in this matter.

But what do they have in common besides the fact that they are both conservative black men?

Maybe I’m wrong, but I think that once this story ... a story which Cain knew about for a long time, but chose not to get up front with ... broke and Cain realized that, hey, it’s not destroying me, it’s getting me some support and sympathy money

I believe that at that point he and his very strange campaign manager decided to milk it and use it to his advantage.

Of course, I could be wrong.

As long as public education is contolled by the left and the unions, neither man will make the cut. They'll be ignored and not mentioned at all.

Well, your post proves my point. He’s using this as a fund raiser.

What about his false accusation that Perry is behind the leak.

So he decries false accusations against himself but turns around and makes them against somebody else.

Believe me, your idol is not who you think he is and you will end up very disappointed if you are afraid to face facts about him now, before it’s too late.
