Tuesday, we published this story about a bizarre attack launched against Governor Sarah Palin at, of all places, Glenn Beck’s site The Blaze. It was an attack made up of whole cloth, the kind of thing we’re used to seeing from the mainstream media and leftists, not from those who claim to be on our side. Palin’s not above criticism, but when Newsweek asks her to write about life with her son Trig, a Down Syndrome child, and she writes about life with her son Trig — what’s the problem?

The Obama-Biden reelection campaign, which just announced it banked $224 million in 2011, is stepping up fundraising as it steels for an expected fall "smear" machine from GOP front-runner Mitt Romney. In an email to supporters this morning, Obama campaign manager Jim Messina warned that the Republicans will have a fat bank account to tap for negative ads, something both Romney and Newt Gingrich did in Florida. "They're going to try to spend and smear their way to the White House," Messina said about Republican groups and candidates.

The Republican establishment is pulling out all the stops to try to keep Newt Gingrich from becoming the party's nominee for President of the United States -- and some are not letting the facts get in their way. Among the claims going out through the mass media in Florida, on the eve of that state's primary election, is that Newt Gingrich "resigned in disgrace" as Speaker of the House of Representatives, as a result of unethical conduct involving the diversion of tax-exempt money. Mitt Romney is calling on Gingrich to release "all of the records" from the House of Representatives...

It won't shock AT readers to learn that the Left is deceitful, but here's another piece of evidence: a fundraising letter from Ralph Neas's People for the American Way (PAW) arrived in the mail today. The outside of the envelope and the letter inside display a large photo identified as "Demonstrators at Presidential Inauguration." The signs held by these "demonstrators" read: "God Hates Obama," "Fags Love Obama," and "Hell to the Chief." Anyone paying the slightest attention knows that signs with the word "fag" and "God hates..." most likely originate from the despicable Westboro Baptist Church, and sure enough, a...

So Jon Huntsman can speak Mandarin and also he adopted a little Chinese girl who was abandoned in a market. Providing us with yet more evidence that they are mostly liberal Democrats who are mad that Obama has governed too far to the right, Ron Paul supporters decided this was a good reason to produce a video putting Huntsman in a Mao hat and jacket, complete with what is I guess supposed to be a Chinese version of blackface: [video] Clearly Paul’s supporters are smarting a bit from finishing well behind a guy with no money and no campaign organization...

Another audience member questioned the candidate about Santorum awarding former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky with the Angels in Adoption Award. Santorum explained that he lacked knowledge of the situation at the time and noted that the award has since been withdrawn. In response to his explanation, the audience member asked, "So we shouldn't trust Obama with our kids, but we can trust you?"

ATLANTA (AP) -- Herman Cain is still campaigning for president. But by most measures, his White House bid is all but over. His standing in polls is cratering. Supporters are wavering if not fleeing. Fundraising is suffering. And, these days, the former pizza company executive is less a serious candidate than the butt of late-night comedy jokes after a string of accusations of sexually inappropriate behavior and, now, an allegation of a 13-yearlong extramarital affair."His chance at winning the presidency are effectively zero," said Dave Welch, a Republican strategist who worked on both of John McCain's presidential bids.

Herman Cain attorney Lin Wood is a guest on "Piers Morgan Tonight" this evening, in an exclusive interview in the wake of the latest accusation aimed at his client. "What I find naive is the failure on the part of members of the media to be asking the tough questions of the accuser, someone who has, obviously a troubled past," Wood tells Piers Morgan. "Why don't you look at yourself, Piers, and the members of your media?"

In what could be a devastating blow to Herman Cain’s Republican presidential bid, Atlanta businesswoman Ginger White gave an interview to Good Morning America on Wednesday in which she divulged new details of her alleged 13-year-long affair with the candidate and panned Cain's suitability to be president. “I can’t make this up,” White said. “And frankly speaking, I wouldn’t want to make this up.” White said that Cain took her to a Mike Tyson-Evander Holyfield boxing match in the late 1990s, and said that the former president of the National Restaurant Association had given her money for “the last two...

While Newt Gingrich‘s unexpected rise to the top of the Republican primary ladder had taken the spotlight off of the numerous sexual allegations against Herman Cain for some time, but that problem came barreling back into headlines today as Cain himself broke the news of a new accusation: a thirteen-year affair. On tonight’s Factor, Bill O’Reilly had some pessimistic remarks on the matter, wondering whether “Herman Cain can survive any more of this.” Joined by panelists Leslie Marshall and Janine Turner, O’Reilly noted that on his program they were “not going to get into this,” meaning the details of the...

ATLANTA -- Herman Cain on Monday pre-emptively denied a forthcoming accusation by a woman who is expected to say she had a 13-year affair with the Republican presidential candidate. In an apparent effort to get ahead of the story, Cain appeared in a cable news interview to say the woman is "someone who I know, who is an acquaintance, who I thought was a friend." MyFoxAtlanta.com released some details of the story, which is scheduled to air Monday night, shortly after Cain appeared on CNN -- identifying the accuser as an Atlanta businesswoman named Ginger White. "It was pretty simple,"...

In 1983, Eva Vachal, then 24 years old, was hired by Godfather’s Pizza. She began in the information-technology department. By 1986, when Herman Cain became president of the company, she was the corporate receptionist. For the next decade — Cain’s entire tenure at the Omaha-based firm — she continued in that position, answering phones and assisting executives with various projects.

CHICAGO— The fiance of a suburban Chicago woman accusing Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain of making a sexual advance says the woman stepped forward because she felt she had to. Sharon Bialek challenged Cain on Monday at a news conference in New York. Her fiance is 49-year-old Mark Harwood of Mundelein. He tells The Associated Press that Bialek told him about the alleged incident for the first time Friday.
-
*snip* The public record on Bialek begins in 1991 when she filed personal bankruptcy for the first time while living in Des Plaines. Between 1993 and 1996 Bialek worked for four different companies in promotion and marketing positions. In 1996, and part of 1997, Bialek was at the National Restaurant Association. After being let go from that job in mid-1997, she says that she went to Washington, D.C., to meet with Cain, president of the association, because she needed a job. In 1999, Bialek's son Nicholas was born and a paternity lawsuit was filed by the father, a media executive....

Herman Cain accuser Sharon Bialek plans "as of now" to appear on two morning television shows Tuesday, her lawyer, Gloria Allred, said. Bialek's allegation that Cain made an aggressive and unwanted sexual advance in 1997 has reignited the week-old controversy over reports of Cain's personal misconduct. And every national interview Bialek — or Allred — gives will make this even more problematic for Cain's campaign.

Turnabout is fair play, so they say. After Politico first reported a story last week of allegation of sexual harassment from Herman Cain by two women, then continued on to report and even promote the report with 90 Cain stories in five days, the notion of innocent until proven guilty has been voided according to conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh. However, on his Friday radio program Limbaugh proposed using Politico’s rules against Politico by getting a conservative “Larry Flynt,” the publisher of Hustler magazine that offers money for sexual misconduct by Republicans, to do the same against the media,...

URBANDALE, Iowa — Herman Cain’s Iowa state director thumbed through a stack of supporter sign-up forms at the campaign’s headquarters here, telling ABC News that the sexual harassment allegations that have rocked the Cain campaign this week have actually been a “catalyst” in this state. Larry Tuel, who runs Cain’s campaign in Iowa, said that the endless stream of news stories on Cain’s alleged misbehavior toward women have attracted new supporters and emboldened existing ones. “The story has made some people angry,” Tuel said in an interview on Thursday. “We think that people want to show their support for Mr....

Joe Scarborough questioned Madeleine Albright about Republican frontrunner Herman Cain‘s meeting with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, on Friday’s edition of Morning Joe and wondered if she got to meet him as well. “Did you talk to Herman? And if so — what did you say?” asked Scarborough. “Yeah! How’d that meeting go?” interjected cohost Mika Brzezinski. “Well, he didn’t call me,” jabbed Albright. “I’m the wrong gender.” Albright’s zinger cracked up the two morning anchors. “Okay!” exclaimed Scarborough. “May have been safer for you.”

Judge not, lest ye be judged. Not a bad rule of thumb. Being alive means making mistakes. Growing up means understanding that fact, and taking responsibility. Bad actors never take responsibility. Barack Obama honestly believes he's never made a mistake since getting elected; it's one of the few things I think he really means. Honestly. That's why I kind of like Herman Cain's response to the media thugs. Cain isn't playing their game. I hope he checkmates them, move after move. Never play by their rules. Always set your own rules, or they will kill you. You can see their...

First, I am not saying Romney’s campaign leaked any information or is behind the current Cain controversy. That’s not what this is about. If the accusations against Cain turn out to be serious by today’s standards, then it’s better they come out now so Cain can get out of the race now. But, what if they were only serious by 1990’s standards? Take the recent accusation of inappropriate behavior against Cain by an Iowa radio host, where Cain said the following to a radio station female staffer: “Darling, do you mind doctoring my tea for me?” People are rolling on...

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- "What the [bleep] is Politico doing?" said the man on the phone. "And how the [bleep] are they getting away with this [bleep]?" Reporters rival sailors for their proficiency in profanity, and one of the most experienced political journalists in Washington was cussing a blue streak Thursday evening as he railed against the shoddiness of Politico's reporting on the Herman Cain "scandal."

New Ad Compares Herman Cain to Clarence Thomas November 4, 2011 (WASHINGTON) -- An emotionally charged new video obtained by ABC News from the group Americans for Herman Cain portrays the sexual harassment story as a racially motivated effort to destroy Herman Cain. The video ends with Clarence Thomas’ closing statement at his 1991 confirmation hearing: “This is a circus. It is a national disgrace. It is a high tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves. It is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order you will be lynched, destroyed...

While the lame stream media continues their non-stop barrage of stories about Herman Cain and allegations of sexual harrasment, they continue to ignore Obama's Fast and Furious that led to the deaths of Americans. The media also hammers away at Cain while they almost ignored the more serious claims against President Bill Clinton in three separate incidents when he was president. Hopefully Americans are noticing.

The Republican race has officially been hijacked by the Herman Cain sexual harassment controversy, and the furor shows no signs of dying down. Everyone in Washington is now trying to decide whether Cain is more like Clarence Thomas or Bill Clinton. Or maybe even Anthony Weiner. But the media firestorm has overlooked one key fact: We still don't know what Cain actually did. New details emerged Thursday night about the two unnamed women who Politico originally reported had accused Cain of making "sexually suggestive" remarks and "improper" gestures toward them while they were employees at the National Restaurant Association sometime...

Chris Wilson of Wilson Research Strategies has said publicly that while he was working for Herman Cain at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) in the late 1990′s that he personally saw Cain sexually harass a woman at a restaurant in Virginia although Wilson has not said exactly what he believes constituted his claim of “harassment.” WHO IS CHRIS WILSON? Chris Wilson was the Executive Director of the Republican Party of Texas under then-governor George W. Bush. Chris Wilson worked very closely with Karl Rove. Rove was known to us in Texas as the “master of dirty political tricks. ” I...

Cain says Forbes concluded Perry camp was source of harassment leak Justin Sink November 3, 2011 Herman Cain said Forbes Magazine - and not his campaign - was responsible for the concluding that Rick Perry's campaign leaked the story of sexual harassment allegations during Cain's tenure as the president of the National Restaurant Association. "A reporter did this research and came up with these facts, we didn't," Cain said Thursday on Sean Hannity's radio show. "That was the reporter that wrote the report for Forbes." But despite adamant denials from the Perry camp, Cain said he still doesn't "see any...

ATLANTA (AP) - Republican candidate Newt Gingrich is decrying media coverage of the sexual harassment claims against rival Herman Cain and says that Cain's tax plans deserve more attention. Gingrich has told WSB radio in Atlanta on Wednesday that he thinks it's "disgusting" that the news media has started what Gingrich described as a "witch hunt" against Cain. It was revealed this week that Cain's former employer, the National Restaurant Association, settled in the 1990s with two women who claimed that Cain had sexually harassed them. A third woman has told The Associated Press that she considered filing a sexual...

Outsider Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain is spending a tumultuous week in Washington courting the GOP establishment. And, at least for now, it seems that the establishment likes him — despite allegations of sexual harassment that continue to surface. Following a series of private meetings with the Georgia businessman early in the week, Republican Members pronounced themselves impressed with Cain and unconcerned about the sexual harassment claims that have dogged the White House hopeful since Politico reported them Sunday. Cain spoke today with Members in several private settings as he sought to boost support for his campaign, sell his controversial...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has hauled $1 million in donations in recent days, a spokesman said on Thursday, despite accusations of sexual harassment that have consumed his campaign. The former pizza executive's fundraising took a jump once his ascent in the polls began about a month ago. He brought in $2 million in the first two weeks of October. Until then, he had raised about $5.2 million after entering the race in May.

Washington was all a-Twitter (literally) Monday over Politico's story about the sexual harassment charges against Herman Cain -- and about Cain's serial self-contradictions. Faithful Fox News viewers saw him in the afternoon saying he didn't know the terms of a settlement reached with the complainants and then saw him tell Greta Van Susteren in the 10 p.m. hour that he did. The Politico story, quoting no named sources, described Cain's alleged misconduct as "conversations allegedly filled with innuendo or personal questions of a sexually suggestive nature" and "physical gestures that were not overtly sexual." That sounds bad but not horrible....

If you are a conservative and a minority, watch out. Liberals and the liberal media are out to get you. Just ask Herman Cain. We've seen it before. And Americans are sick and tired of it. The character assassination of conservatives is standard operating procedure for the liberal, progressive media. This stems from a particular form of demented thinking that seems to afflict the majority of liberals and progressives. In his book "The Liberal Mind, the Psychological Causes of Political Madness," board certified forensic psychiatrist Lyle H. Rossiter, Jr. details his view that liberals do indeed suffer from a form...

Donald Trump urges Herman Cain to "bring a major lawsuit against those two women if what they assert is false."

It’s been fascinating to watch both the Herman Cain camp and the Republican establishment react to the sexual harassment allegations brought to light about Herman Cain by Politico. While it is still too soon to determine what exactly did happen years ago when Cain headed the National Restaurant Association (NRA), two things are clear — Cain is still winging it (and not well), and the Republican establishment has been expertly conditioned by the left when it comes to kneejerk accusations of “racism.” In politics, the reaction to a controversy is very often more enlightening and important than the details of...

RUSH: Okay, moving on now to the Herman Cain saga, last night I got a note from a friend. "Rush: The Politico website's gone nuts. They've just unleashed attack after attack after attack." So I went to The Politico website, I looked at The Politico website, and I started laughing because my friend was right. I just had a different interpretation. I looked at 'em as going over the edge. There must have been five or six different links to Herman Cain stories about "the women," about lawyers for "the women," about how Cain has blown up the security or...

Herman Cain said this on PBS NewsHour last night, regarding his assertion of a growing military threat from China (VIDEO):And secondly, we already have superiority in terms of our military capability, and I plan to get away from making cutting our defense a priority and make investing in our military capability a priority, going back to my statement: peace through strength and clarity. So yes they’re a military threat. They’ve indicated that they’re trying to develop nuclear capability and they want to develop more aircraft carriers like we have. So yes, we have to consider them a military threat. Immediately,...

Was the recent attack on Herman Cain’s presidential campaign a professional hit job? Absolutely, says Herman Cain. So far, neither of the two alleged complainants from Herman Cain’s tenure at the National Restaurant Association have come forward publicly, although it appears at least one would like NRA to release her from her confidentiality agreement to do so. Just as Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain predicted, he has become the most recent victim of the race-baiting left's high-tech lynching of prominent, conservative black men. Days before the Cain sexual harassment smear emerged from the sewers of liberal trash journalism, MSNBC's Martin Bashir hosted contributor Karen Finney who proclaimed that conservatives only liked Cain because, "they think he's a black man who knows his place." As Bashir actually thanked her on-air for making such an offensive and ignorant remark (far from being a submissive position, conservatives are supporting Cain in his effort to ascend to the highest office in...

Washington (CNN) – Herman Cain's campaign says it raised more than $400,000 on Monday, a "clear vote of confidence from his supporters," after the story broke alleging he had been accused of sexual harassment while head of the National Restaurant Association. "In the last 24 hours, the Friends of Herman Cain campaign has had the single best day of fundraising since the start of the campaign," Mark Block, Cain's chief of staff, said Tuesday night. Block said Monday's donations, both online and by phone, doubled the normal daily average in Cain's campaign to become the Republican presidential nominee.

Embattled presidential candidate Herman Cain decided to try to sing away his blues during an appearance at the National Press Club today. The former pizza magnate burst into an a capella rendition of a gospel song as questions about alleged decade-old claims of sexual harassment swirled. Saying he wanted to share his faith with the assembled reporters, Cain used his rich baritone voice to nail a verse from the Dottie Rambo number “He Looked Beyond My Fault and Saw My Need.”

Not many presidential candidates would break into a gospel song of forgiveness and redemption for a packed room of reporters who have spent the day doggedly inquiring about allegations of sexual harassment. But not many candidates are Herman Cain. The Republican presidential contender spent a whirlwind Monday grappling with potentially devastating reports that he behaved in an inappropriate sexual manner toward two women who worked for him when he was president of the National Restaurant Association. Both women were reportedly offered, and accepted, settlement proposals that included five-figure payouts and confidentiality agreements, according to reports. But that news, which would...
