Quan to Occupy Oakland: Shape up or ship out

OAKLAND -- Oakland Mayor Jean Quan says the Occupy Oakland protesters camped outside City Hall need to move to a "less disruptive" location if they can't learn to behave themselves.

"They have to take some responsibility, they have to step up," she told KCBS-AM in an interview. ..

...

At a lengthy meeting Thursday night, several members of the City Council hinted that they would like the camp to go away.

That might be easier said than done, Quan told KCBS.

"It is a no-win situation because I would guess a majority of people in the city support the movement in general," she said. "I just don't think they want it in their backyard."

What exactly does she think this “movement” is?

Too late. She’s already given the go ahead to riot.

Quan is feeling the heat from the productive people in Oakland.

She is only a heartbeat away from a recall, and is making statements to preempt it. The question is: will she ever do more than talk about what Obamaville Oakland “should” do.

This woman IS the problem. She could decided whether to stand up or sit down if she had to pee.

i find it amazing that these government people haven’t realized they are being ‘occupied’ by a group that is antagonistic towards the government of the United States

WAKE UP

if they succeed in attracting hundreds or thousands of ex-military, then the real problem starts

which, of course, is their goal

this crap needs to be shut down NOW. that fact that it’s not being shut down makes me question if those in charge want it to continue and get out of hand

Some of those involved with and supporting this actually do want it to get violent and out of hand. They think it's the Revolution, baby!

I find it enjoyable to watch one of the most liberal cities in the country have to deal with the consequences of its own ridiculous philosophy. Let it get "out of hand" there, and make it clear for the rest of the country to see what those people really stand more.

I hope Oakland lets this all play out. The more the true vision of the Alinsky set is revealed, the better for the rest of us.

"They have to take some responsibility..."

LOL...she obviously misses the point of the whole thing, which is all about not taking any responsibility!

I think all of Occupiers from across the nation should relocate to Oakland. The winters are mild, the city officials welcoming, and there’s a never ending supply of pot.

A win win for everyone.

Radical Chic in a nutshell. The revolution they favor will always be at somebody else's expense, while their privileges are preserved. Let 'em eat cake, baby.

Seems to me they want more government, not less. I don't see them trying to occupy government buildings. Of course there are also the usual trustafarian "anarchists" who just like to bully people and break stuff, but mostly just clueless products of public schools who feel instead of think.

Waffling political enablement through passive government allowance of anarchist destruction within the limits of fashionable hours in the proper neighborhoods.

Welcome to the SF Bay Area, where Satan himself watches in amazement as the limits of soul degradation are voluntarily exceeded on a daily basis solely to receive approval tweets from the local coffee klatch organizer.

I must borrow from Ace of Spades and say that this woman is a stuttering clusterf*ck of a miserable failure.

She should probably be impeached.
