Air Force Academy Backtracks on Christmas Toy Drive Because It’s Too Christian
The Blaze ^ | Nov.4, 2011 | Madeleine Morgenstern

The U.S. Air Force Academy has pulled out of a Christian-sponsored children’s toy drive after commanders were accused of religious intolerance.

Mikey Weinstein, an academy graduate who runs the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, said the academy’s participation in Operation Christmas Child is inappropriate because of its evangelical Christian roots.

Operation Christmas Child is sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse, headed by Franklin Graham — the son of evangelist Billy Graham. It packs toys and other items into shoe boxes and sends them to needy children around the world, along with a Christian message in each gift.

“This is arrogance beyond measure,” Weinstein told the Colorado Springs Gazette.

When are they going after Toys for Tots? It is a Christmas thing too.

Maybe we can send in the Marines to do what my USAF whimped out on.

In the name of diversity, should they send suicide belts in recognition of those from the religion of peace? Would that make it okay to send toys as Christians?

We shouldn’t be neutered as long as the Constitution remains. This document acknowledges our God-given Natural Rights. It is time to reclaim God. We can never remove God and Objective Truth without destroying the Constitution. Objective Truth means we have a standard of Right and Wrong—which is God’s—not Barney Franks.

Supra Positive Law as used in Nuremberg and our Civil Rights legislation can declare unconstitutional law null and void. We are a nation under God. Since there have been numerous legal cases declaring we are a “Christian nation”, jurisprudence proves it.

Christmas was declared a Federal Holiday by Pres. Grant, so as such, it needs to be celebrated. We have NO muslim “roots” or atheist “roots” and never could have with a Constitution based on Natural Law Theory and God-given rights. (not allah-given rights). Until our government is overthrown, the Constitution stands. Zero is trying to make it worthless, but he can’t if the people don’t allow him to.

We should be removing judges and officials who don’t uphold their oaths to uphold the Constitution and our God-given rights to worship God in the public square which includes the most popular religion, Christianity. Saying the words, Jesus Christ, is NOT and establishment of religion. This Marxist interpretation of separation of Church and State comes straight out of Stalin’s Constitution. (no kidding).

Mikey Weinstein is a very specific kind of gadfly. When he believes that church and state are intermingling in the military, he goes in with a sting.

Weinstein says that the problem goes back to the ending of the draft in 1972, after which the military became less representative of the entire population and more of what is now called “red state” or rural and small-town America.

Weinstein hates Christians in general but he's particularly incensed when he runs up against Pentecostals or Southern Baptists.

The man is mentally ill and should be locked up to protect the public.

I'd be happy to give him all the shots he needs to get stabilized.

Weinstein served as the first General Counsel to Texas billionaire and two-time Presidential candidate H. Ross Perot and Perot Systems Corporation and left Mr. Perot’s employ in 2006 to focus his full-time attention on the nonprofit foundation he founded in March 2006 to directly battle the evangelical, fundamentalist religious right; the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. This foundation was formed as a watchdog organization to protect religious freedom in the Military in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 1300.17, Accommodation of Religious Practices Within the Military Services.

Weinstein’s ire was provoked when, contrary to his assumptions that the religious and constitutional climate at USAFA had improved since leaving USAFA, his younger son Curtis, an Academy cadet, was exposed to Christian proselytizing of an insultingly patronizing and anti-Semitic nature, including questions from upperclassmen inquiring “How it felt to kill Jesus”. The hegemony of evangelical intolerance at the Academy was also confirmed by Weinstein older son Casey, a 2004 Academy graduate, who alleges that “Senior cadets would sit down and say, ‘How do you feel about the fact that your family is going to burn in hell?’”. This galvanized Weinstein into challenging the perceived religious intolerance present within the ranks of the military in general and the US Air Force Academy in particular; Weinstein later recounted in his autobiography, “It is naturally of great personal consequence that Curtis’s and Casey’s encounters with religious bigotry occurred at the Academy, which is where I first encountered it as well. Of course, from a historical perspective, Jews have always had the unfortunate role of scapegoat thrust upon them. But I’m under no illusions that what happened to my Jewish sons and my Christian daughter-in-law could not have happened to the son of a patriotic American Muslim or Buddhist or agnostic or atheist. I wouldn’t be surprised if it already had.”

Jews On First Interviews Mikey Weinstein

Alumnus suing Air Force Academy says Jews should wake up to Christocrat aggression

By JewsOnFirst.org, February 23, 2006

“I get demonized and canonized,” said Mikey Weinstein, whose lawsuit against the Air Force brought attention to the burgeoning theocratic movement in the US military. While the case wends its way through the courts, Weinstein is barnstorming the country, warning of what he regards as aggressive moves by right-wing Protestant evangelicals to Christianize our government and culture. One religious right leader (he doesn’t remember which) recently called him the most dangerous man in America. “They call me Satan’s lawyer, and an arch secularizer. Secular is good, I keep telling them.” Click to continue.

http://www.militaryreligiousfreedom.org/legalfiles/mrff_letter_20110624.pdf is a melange of typical Mikey stuff. He hates Pentecostals (that’s the “full gospel” references throughout his filings). He warns people against saying things about him on the internet. He pleads that he’s a poor persecuted member of a minority religion. This guy is PURE HATE.

IMO... ALL Christian followers, regardless of “type”... need to band together now more than ever. This is a good vs. evil fight. Not religion vs religion.

Has our God ever lost?

I don’t think so.

We need to and will kick some serious ass.

“Weiner-stein” obviously is oblivious to the fact that Jews and Christians are uniting now... to fight the big fight.

...against Islam.

This is a misleading article.

The guy isn’t protesting the Christmas toy drive at all.

He “took issue with an announcement about the drive made to cadets in the dining hall, followed up with an email appealing for donations.”

Specifically, the email he’s protesting was first approved by cadet leadership, thereby making it sanctioned by the Air Force.

And in the Academy, sanctioned activities pushed by leadership usually equals ‘mandatory’.

*THAT’S* the crux of the matter.

first they charged the USAFA with being too evangelical. So they forced the Christians into the closet. Now they are saying the School cannot support a Christmas Toy drive because it is too Christian? SO help me understand this — the
US Constitution is the authority cited in all this as being
violated.Yet the Constitution was adopted back in 1791 and according to Justice Joseph Story when the First Amendment was adopted the “general if not universal sentiment in America was that Christianity ought receive encouragement from the State...” so America seems to have had No problem including Christians—and Christian programs when we were the United States of America— I sorry if I offend anybody but I did not serve in the US Army form 69-777 to defend this godless -and hostile toward all things Christian nation of unbelievers that have crept into power while we slept.

Help me— The first attack I can recall was when the enemy used the misconstrued first amendment to have the cross at
Kolekole Pass (Schofield barracks) destroyed. Wooden crosses had stood there since the 20’s ,and were replaced after WWII
with large wooden cross— and then in 62 with the one the enemy had destroyed. under pretence of a first Amendment violation. In considering this stolen Memorial — I discovered in 1988 the ACLU managed to have a Cross Memorial on Oahu destroyed. Now the Camp smith Cross was erected as an ecumenical Memorial to Marines who died in Vietnam back in 1966.It was a nonsectarian symbol. It was stolen and the first amendment was supposedly violated. and that remedied by destruction of a Memorial. Then the enemy went after the Mojave cross erected atop Sunrise Rock in 1934 but by Veterans and maintained by Veterans. last year the US supreme Court said that Memorial could remain -but it was stolen by some misguided common thief,in an act of passion. In contempt the 9th Circuit has refused to remedy their error. But has sent up another case seeking the destruction of a Memorial at Mt.Soledad. If this purge continues the Crosses at Arlington will be destroyed -both the Argonne Cross and the Canadian Cross of Valor. The Memorial to the Irish Brigade will be destroyed at Gettysburg.-as will the Cape Henry cross and the military will be banned from any field expedient known as the Soldiers Cross. Some in our corrupted court say a County Commissioners meeting may not allow a chaplain pray in Jesus name. The VA at Houston Cemetary recently attempted exile God and Jesus . and now the Air Force Academy says
a Christmas toy drive is too Christian. I suppose they ought remove Joseph Story from the display at the US supreme Court bldg. After all he wrote in his Commentaries on th eConstitution ,1833 that when the First Amendment was adpted the general if not universal sentiment in america was that Christianity ought be encouraged by the State...” So either he was a LIAR—or demented— or the modern Court does NOT reflect the Constitution all Judges swear to defend?

He warns people against saying things about him on the internet.

Does he now? Well then, I suspect he is breathing a sigh of relief now that DADT has been scratched. A middle-aged man using the nickname "Mikey" with anyone but his closest friends? My "gaydar" is lit up like a CHRISTMAS TREE.
