Amid allegations against Cain, rivals ignore issue

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Herman Cain's presidential rivals focused Friday on anything but the decade-old sexual harassment allegations dogging the Georgia businessman's campaign.

No one, it seemed, was eager to weigh in on Cain and the furor that has consumed the race for the GOP nomination over the past week. Five of Cain's opponents were in Iowa to court Republicans at a GOP dinner in the state that holds the race's leadoff caucuses in just two months.

Yeah, they’re quiet now, but they sure weren’t quiet this week. Gingrich and Ron Paul are the only two who didn’t take a pot shot at Cain.

The answer is quite simple. Most Republicans have seen bull**** before. There is really no reason to talk about it when you see more. It’s better to not step in it and just keep on going.

“Gingrich and Ron Paul are the only two who didn’t take a pot shot at Cain.”

Correct. This nasty smear job by the Democrats at Politico disqualified some candidates for the GOP nomination. Herman Cain was not one of them.

the furor that has consumed the race for the GOP nomination

It's funny how transparent these reporters are. In the case of this nothing story, no one gives a damn except...liberal reporters. It certainly isn't 'consuming' anyone, and that is the real story--that they've gone to the well one time too many on this garbage. "Allegations" and "considered filing allegations" translate to "There's definitely almost kind of a story here that means something."

Once again this afternoon Hugh Hewitt (a HUGE Mittens fan) was pronouncing Cain's campaign toast and stick a fork in it, so I promptly switched him off and went directly to The Iowa Caucuses are less than two months away! and made another contribution. Maybe it will be money down the drain, but I want Cain or Newt at this point. Whoever the GOP candidate is he or she MUST stand up to the DB LSM - both Cain and Newt have those characteristics.

This is one of the worst attempts by the press to attack a Republican in my memory.

There are no facts, no names, no dates, no details, no specific allegations. Even one anonymous accuser wants to just move on after being released from confidentiality!

The hardly noticed campaign finance scandal at least has documentation and specific allegations.

ABC Radio News had it on every hour on the hour for two solid days. Their Liberal agenda is so, to use your term, "transparent" it is disgusting.

I heard some of that ABC radio coverage. At one point they said it was “Breaking News” like the moon had exploded or something.

The media have not come to grips with the fact that with the Internet and FOX and Limbaugh they no longer get to tell us “We’re objective and this is the truth.” They think that because they cover this 24/7 that people will believe it, and then talk about it, and want that coverage.

People are much less gullible. Our natural skepticism has extended to ‘objective’ news reporting, and it’s too late to put that genie back in the bottle. We know that all reporters have political feelings themselves, and we all know it woll color their reporting.

So true. At my job I am forced to listen to ABC Radio News all day long and the Cain story was just a break for them in their constant coverage of the Michael Jackson trial. Not a peep about Gunwalker or any other real major story that might make Obama look bad.

Aside from it being a non-issue, they’ve gone into self preservation mode. First time one of them says anything, the msm will be all over their history.

This is one of the worst attempts by the press to attack a Republican in my memory.

This is the "NEW CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT"...

Is a black man, or any minority truly free to think for themselves outside of the constraints of the democrat plantation and not get hung by the left for it?

Herman Cain is fighting that battle every day now.

Cheers to the courage and strength of this man. May God see him through this to victory.
