(Reuters) - Three activists protesting economic inequality were struck by a car and mildly injured late on Friday night as they attempted to block traffic near a gathering of conservatives in the nation's capital, police said on Saturday.
The protesters, who were transported to area hospitals with no signs of visible injury, were cited for obstructing traffic late on Friday night, said Araz Alali, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Department.
"The driver saw he had the green light and the protesters then basically jumped in front of the vehicle to block traffic," Alali said. "It appears that the protesters jumped into the path of the vehicle."
Angry protesters circled the vehicle after it struck the protesters, police said. The driver was not cited.
The incident occurred on Friday as hundreds of protesters affiliated with the "Occupy DC" movement gathered near a convention center in Washington, D.C. where the conservative "Defending the American Dream Summit" was being held.

Yep a guy ran over me with my own truck.
First time he hit me he knocked me about 20 to 30 feet. Second time he ran over me with the front wheel.
The police hauled me to jail, they hauled the SOB that ran over me to the hospital.

We were attacked by a mob of butt buddies calling them selves a “CITIZENS PATROLE”.
Butt buddies were a protected class even in the 70”s.
We were outnumbered by about 4 or 5 to one but the idiots kept coming at us 2 and 3 at a time instead of all at once, so they were getting the crap kicked out of them.
The guy that ran over me got the crap kicked out of him so he got in my truck to run over us.
When he saw me get up after being run over twice he dove out the passengers window and landed on his head splitting it open.
My buddy ran around the truck and planted a steel toe boot in his face.
I had a baseball bat I had taken away from one after he broke my buddies arm with it, and a guy came up behind me and hit me in back of the head. I got a home run on his knee.
Three more came running and jumped my buddy and before they knew what hit them two were out cold.
If that whole mob had attacked us all at once I don't have a doubt they would have killed us. They had knives, bats, pieces of chain, a bolt action rifle (after the guy ran out of ammo and hadn't hit anyone I played Tarzan with it and wrapped it around a tree) and lord only knows what else.
It's amazing what your body can tolerate when it has to.
They gave us a court date but there were never any charges filed against us and they wouldn't file charges against the butt buddies.
Atually, I think I'd feel pretty good about myself.

Where did this take place? Sorry for being so nosy, you can tell me to MYOB with no offense taken. Why did they attack you and your friends? Was it private property, a bar, a gathering. Anything happen prior to this “event”?

She went to a hostile country and supported terrorists. Her own actions led to her demise.
The bulldozer operator could not see her. The necessary armor limited his field of vision. She chose to place herself between the bulldozer and a house used by those who target children with rocket attacks. To call her death “murder” raving stupidity.
Those that support her actions also praised those who brought down the towers. That’s why I assume you danced in the street with the rest of the terrorist sympathizers.

There was 3 of us to start with. One guy had never been to a topless bar so he ask me and my buddy to go to the topless bars with him for his birthday.
The topless bars were around the Montrose area with was also Homo town.
We came out of the bars and were headed to my truck.
One of the restaurant owners came out and grabbed my buddy while we were walking down the sidewalk. He said my buddy had torn the awning down on his restraints and he wanted $350 or he was going to call the police. My buddy said call em and we started walking off.
The guy picked up a rock just a little smaller than a softball and told my buddy if he tried to leave he was going to hit him.
Major mistake.
My buddy asked me what he should do, and I told him to pay him 5 at a time.
My buddy hit him 4 or 5 times and hollered 5 ever time he hit him.
This idiot took his rock and ran over and hit the 3rd guy with us in the head and split his head open.
That guy had never been in a fight in his life, but he hit the guy one time then ran.
The idiot with the rock then came back to me and tried to hit me with it.
My buddy and I knocked him back and forth between us, we wouldn't let him hit the ground.
This so called Citizens Patrol group started coming out of the woodwork.
My buddy saw them coming up behind me and took off after them, they took off running.
My buddy and I went to my truck we were going to drive around and see if we could find the third guy that was with us.
We drove down a street and that's when we first saw this huge mob forming. There was about 15 to 20 and more were coming.
I turned around and started driving the other direction. I looked in the mirror and saw this mob chasing my truck.
One guy was running full blast trying to catch my truck. I was about half ass lit so I put the brakes on and let him catch it.
Smack, face first right into my tailgate. Put a good dent in it.
I drove over a couple of streets to go back and look for the third guy. I noticed there was a car with 3 people in it following us. The guy in the back seat had a rifle aimed at us.
I told my buddy to take the passenger, I'd take the driver and whoever finished first would take the third guy in the back seat with the rifle.
Turns out the driver was the same guy that had run into the back of my truck.
He tried a roundhouse kick on me and his leg ended up on my shoulder. I just picked him up and slammed him down right in the drivers door. It was a 2 door so the guy in back couldn't get out the drivers side.He climbed out the passengers side with the rifle and baseball bat.
My buddy was left handed and had the passenger on the ground working him over when the guy hit him in the forearm with the bat. My buddy didn't slow down so the guy put the rifle to the back of his head he was telling him to stop or he would shoot.
The driver had taken off running when I went to help my buddy. That's when I picked up the bat. I swung around and hit the guy with the rifle, right on back of his left shoulder. I didn't want to kill him, I just wanted to get his attention. Stupid move on my part because he pulled the trigger. He missed my buddy's head by a couple of inches.
He turned the rifle on me and took off running.
There was a huge mob forming at the end of the street, that's where the driver had run to to get help.
Only about 12 or 15 came back with him. He tried another roundhouse on me with the same results. I couldn't spend too much time with him because my buddy had 2 or 3 on him and he was kind of limited after getting hit with the bat.
That's when the guy got into my truck and drove down to the huge mob trying to get more to come help. There was only a few that would take more than one punch before taking off running.
The guy came back in my truck and that's when he hit me. He stopped and backed up to try and run over me again.
By buddy reached in and grabbed the steering wheel. The guy was shifting from forward to reverse trying to shake him loose. I had thrown the bat in back of my truck so nobody would pick it up. I got into the back of my truck to get the bat, I was going to take that SOB’s head off to stop him. He threw the truck in reverse, I fell out of the truck and that's when backed over me with the front wheel. The guy knew he had run over me. When he saw me stand up and start pulling him out the window, he got loose and dove out the passengers window. When my buddy kicked him he had had enough.
My buddy hadn't had enough. Three guys were coming down the street so he went to meet them. He left 2 laying in the street, the other was able to get up and run off.
IIRC that's when the guy came up in back of me and hit me in back of the head and I busted his knee with the bat.
The mob at the end of the street had grown to probably a 100 or more. My buddy was headed straight for them.
The guy with the rifle came up behind me and started bouncing rounds off the street, he was trying to hit me in back of the leg. The mob scattered when the shooting started.
He fired 3 rounds and I could hear him working the bolt so I knew he was empty.
I walked back toward him and he told me to stop or he would shoot. I told him to shoot. He pulled the trike, still empty. I took the gun away from him and wrapped it around a tree. I told him to leave and not come back.
My buddy came back and I told him to get in the truck, the third guy that had been with us was just going to have to fend for himself he shouldn't have taken off running.
All the streets were blocked by mobs. We went down one street it was blocked by a mob, then another mob came in in back of us. They all started closing in on us.
We could hear the police coming and we just hoped they got there in time. If they didn't, I was going to run over as many as I could. They stopped about 75 feet from my truck and waited for the police.
We honestly didn't think we were getting out of there alive.
