(Reuters) - Three activists protesting economic inequality were struck by a car and mildly injured late on Friday night as they attempted to block traffic near a gathering of conservatives in the nation's capital, police said on Saturday.
The protesters, who were transported to area hospitals with no signs of visible injury, were cited for obstructing traffic late on Friday night, said Araz Alali, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Department.
"The driver saw he had the green light and the protesters then basically jumped in front of the vehicle to block traffic," Alali said. "It appears that the protesters jumped into the path of the vehicle."
Angry protesters circled the vehicle after it struck the protesters, police said. The driver was not cited.
The incident occurred on Friday as hundreds of protesters affiliated with the "Occupy DC" movement gathered near a convention center in Washington, D.C. where the conservative "Defending the American Dream Summit" was being held.

Remember, this is D.C., where the thugs have supreme rights.
My elderly parents were there last night and were being prevented from leaving the building. The occupy DC robots were trying to get themselves arrested and daring the police to arrest them. They blocked the exits and refused to let people out. My parents (both in their 70’s) along with several other attendees pushed their way out of the center and broke through the demonstrators.
There is some video of the “protesters” surrounding the car that allegedly ran over them. Thankfully the car did not appear to be damaged. Nice silver Lexus. The police allowed the driver to leave while the robots were chanting and whining.
There is also video of a woman trying to use her toddler to block a door while the police were trying to close it and keep the protesters out of the building. They are using babies as human shields.
Obama owns this crowd and it’s not going to end pretty. They are itching for a confrontation. They are professional protesters and anarchists and are trying to create a disaster that they can catch on camera. Watch any of the videos and you see that most of the protesters are carrying cameras to try to record the trouble they create.
Can you imagine how horrible you’d feel if you hit someone? Yet, these moochers and mentally ill want to cause others such grief. I’ve had bums try to get hit on the city streets, and Omen-like kids on the reservation try to get hit on the highway.
LOL - that driver obviously supports the right to keep and bear arms!
If I struck a human, I'd feel horrible. I've felt bad when I hit the errant squirrel or a raccoon. But if I hit one of these useless idiots, I don't I'd feel much sorrow. On the hierarchy of life forms, they are closer to the amoeba than anything else.

Reminds me of radical Muslims, who see the death of their own as a helpful way to promote their cause. And so they facilitate the deaths of their own.

LOL, good point. I’ve seen the “critical mass” demonstrations in SF. Luckily, I was walking and in no rush, but they wouldn’t let ANY cars through. It’s like a few thousand zombies walking/biking.
