Sharon Bialek, a woman employed by the National Restaurant Association’s Educational Foundation in the late 90s, accused Herman Cain of inappropriate sexual contact today in a press conference with celebrity attorney Gloria Allred.
Bialek said she first met Cain when employed by the NRA as a manger of industry relations. She lost her job there shortly thereafter, and at her boyfriend’s suggestion, arranged to meet Cain in D.C. over coffee in 1997 to discuss her career. She told Cain what hotel she would be staying at; when she arrived, she had been upgraded to a suite, which she later found out had been through his doing, although she says she was not aware of that at the time. Cain also switched their meeting to a restaurant. After eating, Bialek said the two drove over to the National Restaurant Association headquarters; she assumed he would show her the offices.
“He suddenly reached over and he put his hand on my leg, under my skirt, and reached for my genitals,” said Bialek of what happened next. “He also grabbed my head and brought it towards his crotch. I was very, very surprised and very shocked. I said, ‘What are you doing? You know I have a boyfriend. This isn’t what I came here for.’ Mr. Cain said, ‘You want a job, right?’ I asked him to stop and he did. I asked him to take me back to my hotel, which he did, right away.”
Bialek said she told her boyfriend and another friend that Cain had been “sexually inappropriate” to her at the time, but said she had not detailed what occurred.
Bialek, identified by Allred as a registered Republican, said she saw Cain again about a month ago at a Tea Party conference in the Chicago area. She asked him if he remembered her. “He acknowledged that he remembered me from the foundation, but he kind of looked uncomfortable,” Bialek said. “He said nothing as he was whisked away for his speech by his handlers.”
As noted, before the press conference began, the Cain campaign put out a statement saying the allegations were “completely false.”
The 1996 Cadillac DTS (a likely choice) looks very awkward for the incident she described.
The Lincoln Town Car might be a bit easier of perform a contortionist routine with the center arm rest flipped up and if seats are full recliners (which she didn't mention).
NRA expense records from that time period will tell an active reporter what Cain was driving that night.

TWO QUESTIONS JUST JUMPED OUT TO ME AS I READ THE ENTIRE NARRATIVE:
1) Why would she ask him to drive her home, after her supposed horrific experience?
Wouldn’t a decent woman quickly leave the car in a huff and abandon the boor?
2) As scripted stories go, this looks so badly written...
One would have to assume that Cain is so stupid that he can’t wait to at least invite her to the hotel room bnefopre attempting anything. He had to do it in the car where people might see them make out.
Gloria Allred can’t even write a credible script. She wants to make Herman Cain look like a barbarian.
I made a pass to an ex GF in bed and when she rebuffed my pass, I stopped. So some of us guys are terrible seducers.
A married man wouldn’t do it but if that’s the worst thing Cain is accused of doing, he’s only human. And even his accuser says he did stop when asked and drove her back to her hotel.
In my view, that’s not sexual harrassment and not even rape. It sounds like a badly played Harlequin scene.

Cain is not going to be able to shut down all that is going to come his way... because he can beat obama! The left is going to hit him with all they've got. Because they know he can beat obama.

If my story wouldn’t work in the long run for the reason you’re hinting at, it would be because there is much worse information to come. If that’s true, it doesn’t matter what he says, he’s toast anyway. My thoughts were based solely on what we knew as of Saturday - two accusers who had filed formal complaints.
He’s done, and it’s kind of sad that conservatives who are willing to slam Newt Gingrich for his marital issues are blindly giving Cain a pass on this. There’s actually a thread here on FR right now where someone is claiming to have done a test that determined conclusively that it would be IMPOSSIBLE for Herman Cain to have tried to pull a woman’s head towards his crotch because the steering wheel would have gotten in the way. Seriously? That’s our defense?
When this is all said and done, some people are going to be very embarassed at how willing they were to defend Herman so quickly.

You would think Gloria Allrat would at least get someone as good as last year’s illegal alien. This one isn’t even believable unless your name is BJ.

Doesn’t matter to me if Herman pulled that woman’s head towards his crotch. She didn’t work for him! She was not in his employee! Even if everything the woman said were true, (but I doubt very much if it is) there is no foul here. What man doesn’t make a pass at a woman? Well, excluding gays. What man doesn’t make a pass at a woman?
That matches my corporate experiences as well.
