Possible 9th victim contacts cops in Sandusky case [another Penn State coach victim?]

MONTOURSVILLE, Pa. — Another potential victim has contacted authorities in the child sexual abuse investigation of former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, a state police criminal investigation supervisor said Tuesday.

The man, now an adult, contacted the department on Sunday after seeing media accounts of Sandusky's arrest, Lt. David Young at the Montoursville station said.

Young said investigators took a statement from him and forwarded it to the Rockview station for officers there to pursue.

The Patriot-News of Harrisburg, which first reported that the man had come forward, said he is in his 20s, knew Sandusky from The Second Mile charity and had never told his parents or authorities about the alleged encounters from about a decade ago.

ESPN has been pounding this all afternoon. I have been watching for the past two hours. Kurt Herbstreet made a profound remark: He said (not direct quote here), but like: Sandusky has been on this campus as late as last couple of weeks. JoePa KNEW way back in 2001 that Sandusky did this to the kid in the shower. WHY was Sandusky allowed to be on campus for all these years since that first incident? Why? Why didn’t JoePa ban him from campus long long ago?” Personally, I think he should be fired. The AD, assistant coach who saw it fired. The president of the university fired. They need to clean house and start totally over. The millions in civil lawsuits JoePa and the school are about to have to pay is going to be huge.

We can only speculate how many other boys in this program who, like the victims cited in the grand jury report, also stayed at Sandusky’s home, traveled with him, etc. It’s stomach turning. And the “cover” he seems to have received is just unimaginable.

Yes, a solid reflective conclusion to the SI story: ...how inconceivable it is that Joe Paterno, a man I always respected, asks us to believe that he has no culpability. He has already yakked himself into a corner. Maybe he didn't know everything that was going on. But he knew enough. He wasn't fooled. And that's why his silence is unforgivable.

And notice that the Penn State officials are still defending themselves...not coming forward with any admission of wrongdoing on the part of anybody there!
