Crew recapture Taiwan ship from Somali pirates
The Somali pirates fell into the sea, Tsay said, quoting the fishing boat owner, adding that details of the saga and the fate of the six pirates were not immediately clear.
I'm not going to look it up because the article probably a year old, but the pirates have their own stock market where you can buy shares of a venture by contributing supplies.
That is what I had in mind. Put them onboard when they get in pirate range and then take them off when they are clear. But like I also said, RAISE THE DARNED BOARDING LADDER and they can’t get up to the ship!
Many of these ships are very low to the water. Add in that most ships are very lightly manned and the pirates have plenty of time to get on board without anyone noticing.
Then all the more reason to hire armed guards.
Oh I agree, the pirates should be blown out of the water. The people making the decision to arm vs not arm are not on the ships. They are safely back in some office.
We should “Drone” the living hell out of any ship, even a canoe anywhere within 3 miles of the Somali coast, problem solved. My son is awesome at Xbox 360 and would be willing to pilot the drones for free. He’s gotten some great training on Battlefield 3 in the past few weeks.
