Secretary of State Hillary Clinton named Ellen DeGeneres a “special envoy” for global AIDS awareness during a speech on Tuesday at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
DeGeneres, a lesbian comedian who hosts NBC’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, is in a same-sex marriage with actress Portia de Rossi. DeGeneres will “use her celebrity platform to raise awareness about the global fight against AIDS,” according to a State Department press release.
The release also quoted from a letter Clinton sent to DeGeneres and from Degeneres's response.
“By lending us your energy, compassion, and star power to serve as our Special Envoy for Global AIDS Awareness, your words will encourage Americans in joining you to make their voices heard in our campaign to achieve an AIDS-free generation,” Clinton wrote. “The enormous platform of your television show and your social media channels will enable you to reach millions of people with the strong and hopeful message that we can win this fight.”

Obama’s doing it on purpose. The great majority of the planet is repulsed by homosexuality, especially the islamic world. It’s to further soil our nation, along with squandering the treasury, pushing business crippling legislation, and fomenting domestic riots.
This is just another sickening embarrassment to our country.

When the US AIDS epidemic started in the early 1980s, the “gay” lobby successfully used the disease to gain sympathy for “gays”.
We all the know the sorry results from this, from the 1980s to today. But the “gay” lobby continues to ride the wave of HIV/AIDS to advance its goals, whenever it can.
Isn’t it obvious who wears the pants in this relationship?
Just what are they trying to send as their message with that?
"Use our stuff and be as pretty as a butch dyke?"
And who are the idiots who attend or watch her TV show?
We don't watch the news on the ABC stations here so we don't have to watch the promos for the homos.
HIV/AIDS is pretty much relegated to a chronic disease state at this point — same for diabetes, cancer, and a lot of other chronic conditions. A lot of HIV patients I see are doing quite well on the meds and are otherwise healthy.
The knowledge and technology is there for the rest of the world to use — all they need to do is get off their duffs and stop being so corrupt and socialistic, and they, too, can reduce AIDS to a chronic condition with which one can manage well enough into old age. Sending in Ellen the Lesbian isn’t the answer, no matter how much it scores points with the daytime TV Sheep set.
Oh, joy.
I can hardly wait to be lectured at by another gay woman.
Didn’t we learn our lesson as we suffered through the recently televised “Knock It Off” Public Service Announcements where Wanda Sykes chews us out for using the word “gay” as a pejorative?
Being black, female, AND gay, Sykes is (of course) morally superior to the rest of us. And her directives to the rest of us go without question.
So the looney left thinks, anyway.

I simply don’t watch anything Sykes is in now. I have no idea what she’s appeared in, and if I come across her on TV I just move along to something more interesting.

Not at all. Unless things have changed since the last CDC report on HIV/Aids that I read, lesbians have the lowest rate of infection of all groups.
So presumably Clinton is sending her out as a messenger against AIDS with a positive message of “Do as WE do.”

Yeah, any poking is done using manufactured items and thus not a lot of chances for blood based pathagens to transfer.
Skin contact STD’s can still be an issue.
