Newt Gingrich Scolds Piers Morgan for Trying to Teach Him About Politics
NewsBusters ^ | 9 Nov 2011 | Noel Sheppard

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich demonstrated Tuesday why every liberal media member in the country is scared to death of him winning the nomination and going head-to-head in a debate with Barack Obama.

When CNN's Piers Morgan tried to play his normal cocky role of knowing more than his guest, the former Speaker of the House smartly replied, "I've been involved with politics since 1958, I helped grow the modern Republican Party of Georgia, I helped create a national majority, and you're explaining to me the reality of politics" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

An increasingly large part of me wants Newt as the nominee just so I can watch him debate Obama’s sorry ass and wipe the floor with him.

I watched the show (only because of Newt) and Newt put him in his place a few times.
I know Newt carries some baggage, but I'd prefer him to Cain (no public office experience) or Romney.

Cain is the visionary, Gingrich is the bulldog.

If Newt becomes the nominee, look for the media to suddenly find that Debates aren't really necessary after all...

Problem with Newt is in a choice between political expedience and Conservative principals, he has picked expediency every time.

I suspect Newt would go back to DC full of ideas and plans and, like he did in 1994, promptly surrender them in order to “get things done” with the Democrats

No matter what else you think about him, you gotta love the chip on Gingrich’s shoulder vs the pundits.

Morgan is a Putz and yes Newt can school him all day long.

However, don’t think for a second that the Leftist along with the Main Slime Media will back off Newt. You think it’s bad with Cain... Wait until they attack Newt.

Telling you right now.. Stick with Cain. He is our best chance at the White House. The Left have NOTHING on this guy and it’s why they are attacking his character. The worst thing Republicans and Conservatives can do is cave to the Leftist that are trying to bring down Cain.

Here Here!

he is a great debater— and right now he is smacking Obama..

but when he get into power, he can use those same tactics to convince us that he knows best, we don’t understand, hence he has to join hands with the left for our own good...

As a Georgian, I have seen it!

I hate to say it but I really LIKE Newt's conduct on the campaign trail right now.

He was awesome on Fox News last night.

How refreshing to have a professional politician like Newt say "Yeah sitting on that couch with Nancy Pelosie was the dumbest thing I ever did."

I LIKE Newt....just don't trust him.

I will never forgive Newt for violating his own contract with America.

The final plank in the contract was term limits - the votes were there for it to pass.

Newt engineered its failure (term limits) by having a little known republican representative change his vote, based on a back room deal with the democrats.

Question that will sink Newt in any campaign:
Why was tem limits the only element on the contract with America that did not pass?

You’re clearly not talking about Newt’s voting record. Shouldn’t that record be part of the mix?

The problem is, debates don’t really swing elections.

Last weekend I saw Cain defer to Newt on at least two issues because he didn’t know what to say. Newt rattled off a few things the president or the congress could do right now to save a $700 B to a trillion here and there.

This is the guy I want to be president. He has a command of the sues and ideas that would not come from 3 of the other candidates. He would decimate Obama during the campaign.

I ike Cain and would vote odor him, but Newt is my number 1, one year out.
