Its about time the true blame for the banking mess is exposed and the ignorant sponges who continue to parrot the lies of the left face more shouting down. Let me get this straight: Financial professionals (the Banksters) loaned money to people they KNEW couldn't afford it (NINJA loans, liar loans) because it generated fees and bonuses for the banks and the Banksters, and it's the fault of "the ignorant sponges"???
According to your logic, every professional in any field should be able to lie like a rug to their customers to maximize their profits, and if the customers lose out due to the lies and chicanery, they're just "ignorant sponges"...

First, banks were forced by government to make high risk loans. They were threatened with legal action and loss of FDIC membership. They were promised backup support from Fannie and Freddie. They had two choices, try to make the best of loaning then off-loading the loans or face bankruptcy. The major fault is from a meddling big government.
Second, the complete lack of basic financial acumen by the general public led them like sheep to slaughter to take on debt above their ability to handle it. Couple it with the general public’s living way above their means and they were destined to fail.
