White House defends Obama's Pacific journey (it's about U.S. Jobs, peeps!)

WASHINGTON — The White House Wednesday defended President Barack Obama's decision to make a week-long Pacific trip next week, saying he was out to leverage jobs from a dynamic region to ease economic pain at home.

Obama's image-makers face a tough task in selling his journey, which begins Friday, as Washington media fixates on domestic concerns including a deficit row with Republicans and the quickening 2012 election.

By hosting an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Hawaii, and visiting Australia and the East Asia summit in Bali, Obama will pursue trade and employment and stand up for US values and security in a region likely to dictate its future, officials said.

Obama will also have a flurry of talks with key foreign leaders from China, Russia, Japan, India and Southeast Asian states on the global economic crisis and key international security issues.

"The president's number one priority is job creation, and our efforts to create American jobs are tied very directly to our engagement in the Asia-Pacific," said Ben Rhodes, a US national security advisor.

Barry the Buffoon doesn’t realize that these people are laughing at him. I think America has invested about all we can afford in “green jobs”. We’re broke.

Damage control trip for little Barry’s history in the Phillipines?

The Fraud’s Hawaii trips always seem to coincide with some evil birth certificate issue.

Obama will also become the first US president to travel to Australia's Northern Territories when he lands in Darwin, and is expected to make an announcement on enhanced US-Australian military cooperation in a city seen as a gateway to Southeast Asia. WTF?

Create Jobs?? More likely he will sell more jobs(industry) to the Asian countries.

Just another vacation on our dime.

This is one sorry excuse for a Chief Executive.

Michelle will probably go along but will have to leave an hour early with her own plane and retinue! She always needs to double the cost to get back at the evil Americans she hates.

Exactly.

“Hey, wanna some billion dollar loans to open up factories over here? Make some solar panels that are already way behind technology-wise and nobody will buy? Wanna drill in our gulf?”

She needs her own plane - it’s the “girls” plane!! Woo hoo! O’s flights don’t work with her schedule, so she must fly separately with her very own security entourage. We are supposed to be the frugal ones, not THEM!!

I'm proud to have been banned from the extremely biased and liberal MSNBC Newsvine site, and go back to visit quite often just to keep them on their toes.

How do you "keep them on their toes" if you are banned?

He will be attending a college basketball game in San Diego on Friday. Michigan State will play North Carolina (or North Carolina State) on board the U.S.S. Vinson on Friday. Barry’s hoops are priority number one. He also will have an oppurtunity to use the troops as props again. I am praying for rain on Friday so that they will have to move the game below to the hangar deck.
