You are spot-on about what needs to be done. But in my opinion, the vast majority of Americans have been so dumbed down and ill-educated to the point of brainwashing, that what you suggest could not come about, short of civil war - which is what the socialists want anyway.
And like you said - “rational thought” doesn’t enter into the picture with these morons; they’d be wiped clean in a civil war with the conservative heart of this country.

The PC Generals will issue the orders from such a President that would stoop to that and from there down a series of "mistakes" will occur that prevent an effective deployment.
