Discovery Communications Inc. Chief Operating Officer Peter Liguori is leaving the cable programming giant at the end of December after just two years on the job.
His departure comes at a key time for the company, as its high-profile ventures OWN and the Hub are struggling to establish themselves and its core networks Discovery and TLC face increasing competition from rival cable channels.

I blocked the OWN channel on my the day it was introduced!
But will anyone even notice? How will we know if it is no longer on the air, since no one watches anyway?

I hope Oprsh doesn’t come back to regular TV, it’s so nice not seeing or hearing from her.
OWN is a wretched channel. It doesn’t have even one show on it worth watching. Not even one. I’ve complained to Dish several times—we lost a channel that had at least one show (Dr. G) that was watchable, unlike OWN which doesn’t. I hope everyone connected to this fiasco goes down in flames.

I hope Ophra loses a few billion on this boondoggle but my bet is she is totally insulated. That only the investors and Discovery will lose out
I think Oprah jumped the shark when she endorsed Obama.
