Mitt Romney rejects flip-flopper charge in Republican debate
The Los Angeles Times ^ | 2011-11-09 | Michael A. Memoli

Answering a charge that's at the root of his campaign's inability to break out from the Republican field, Mitt Romney rejected the notion that he's a candidate without a core at the start of tonight's presidential debate.

(snip)

"I think people understand that I'm a man of steadiness and constancy," Romney responded.

As proof, he cited the fact that he's been "married to the same woman for 25" years -- before correcting himself to say it's been 42.

"I've been in the same church my entire life. I worked at one company, Bain, for 25 years, and I left that to go off and help save the Olympic Games."

I will not vote for a pansy assed, GOP selected moderate in any race ever again. I will not hold my nose, I will not be bullied into "it's your fault." Ever.

I'll primary conservatives, I'll vote for conservatives. Fill the house and senate, and if the GOP decides they can relinquish the payoffs and rid themselves of corruption so they aren't blackmailed into eunichs, then fine, I'll vote for OUR conservative candidate for president. Otherwise, the republicans are nothing but an extension (and sad parody) of the globalist left.

We should rebuild the grassroots conservative movement. From the Reagan Revolution of 1980 through the Contract with America in 1994, it was this movement from outside Washington that carried us to the first center-right majority governing coalition in more than 60 years.

The problem has not been with conservatism or with our voters.

The problem has been with Republican leaders who forgot who elected them and what values their supporters expected to see implemented in Washington.

I think if he becomes the nominee we’ll find out lots more about exactly HOW he “saved the Olympics”. Notice how opaque that issue is?

And as for “constancy”, he’s a gun owner, you know. Has been all his live!

“oh yes anyone who hasn’t served is un-American”

Well, when asked why none of his sons served America in the military, Mitt said something like “they ARE serving America by working on my campaign, they are helping me to get elected”.

That changes things a little, it reveals a definite attitude about military service.

No member of the Romney family has ever served in the military since they arrived in America. Not un-American at all, but very curious.

so where the hell does he stand on the homosexual, agenda, health care, etc because he has been around and no one knows for sure where he stands on such issues and would he overturn the insane policy of allowing homosexuals to serve openly, would he overturn Govt health care?

The man will say and do anything to get power.

I’ll take Newt or Cain, sadly MB and RS have had an unfair shake off the crap we call the media.
Sarah is not in either and Rubio does not want the VP slot which would bring my state red.

So you still can’t answer the questions. Didn’t think so, that’s why I asked them.

I’ll give him credit for being faithful to the same woman for 42 years, keeping a job for 25 and organizing the Salt Lake City Olympics. So what? If he has core convictions, he didn’t reveal them tonight.

We cannot trust romney because he does not trust conservatives. Even if romney did win the general election, he would not reward conservatives with a conservative agenda. It is more likely that he would make deals with the Leftists to solidify his hold on the center left. This could cause a real party split and the end of the GOP.
The big problem for statists like romney is that although the status (or statist) quo is politically expedient, it is no longer feasible economically. romney probably looks at a conservative like Kasich in OH as a model to avoid because of the political opposition. However, people like Kasich and Walker will be vindicated because the public will eventually feel the pain of the fiscal crisis caused by the Left.

Mitt Romney rejects flip-flopper charge in Republican debate

Hmmm. Why do I have the feeling that next week he will accept the flip-flopper charge?

“Support” and “vote” are two different things.

I hope you can understand that.
